    Showing my noobiness :)

    couple of questions about the Virago:

    1.Whats the trick to getting air in the back tyre? 3 gas stations and no success .. I just couldn't get the stupid air pump thing on ... there just doesn't seem to be enough room

    2. How do I stop my pillion leaving behind some of their boot on the exhaust?

    I took my 12 year old daughter out for 4 hours yesterday, and her boot is now b0rked, and it took me some razor blade workmanship to get the remaining sole off the exhaust.

    Never trust a Servo air hose they're rarely accurate & also your tyres are usually warmed up by the time you get to a servo so the pressure reading will be out.

    The elbow coupling is good or thread the air pump hose down through the wheel.

    Don't scrape the rubber of with a razor you'll scratch the chrome, rub it off when the pipes are hot then clean off the remaining film with autosol or similar

    tell her to wear flat soledf shoes.. anything with heels and the heel will touch the exhaust.
    Lump lingered last in line for brains,
    And the ones she got were sort of rotten and insane...

    It makes life easier for everyone, There are one or two gas stations around hamilton that I've done this at, keep looking and you'll find them. Otherwise get a bike with a singlesided swingarm, they're the best.

    I have the same problem with pillions and can't seem to find a way around it. When it does happen, I use a steelo pad and a bit of CRC or WD-40 sprayed on it while cold. It comes off straight away and the steelo pad does not scratch.

    Go to the Whorehouse and buy yourself a 12 volt tyre pump. They cost about 20 bucks and do a good enough job. Now you can pump your tyres up at home, when they are cold.
    Make sure you also buy a good pressure gauge. You will not find these at the Warewhare.

    I fdund the digital pump at shell (dinsdale and five X roads) fit quite well after looping thru the spoke
