    Introduction (Zukin)

    Howdy all

You may of seen my post about other Hawkes Bay riders so I thought I would introduce myself

    Howdy all

Well I thought it was about time I introduced myself.
I live in the (normally) sunny and warm Hawkes Bay, in Napier to be precise.
I am 34 years young, and have recently rediscovered motorcycling!!
I used to as a young fulla, have motorcycles, but after having children I let these go.

I was involved in four wheel drives for a long period of time, and even had my own adventure tourism business for a while, so I got to know allot of back country roads within New Zealand, in which I love and I miss.
I am also quite involved in Motorsport (cars) and you will often find me at the Taupo or Manfield Circuits, doing something I enjoy, and that's helping others in the sport.

My current bike is an XR250, I got the 250 so that
A - I could finish getting my licence (which I still havent done )
B - It does almost everything I need it to.

We are currently investigating in purchasing a bike for my wife, so we can ride together, as our daughter will head overseas next year, so what else will we do with our time

I have a strong interest in adventure touring, I am keen to explore the country on two wheels now, and are keen to ride as a group of riders with a similar passion, but given that my trusty ole 250 isn't probably as flash (or as quick) as some of the other adventure bikes out there, its whether you will let me (us) tag along

I look forward to catching you on the trails somewhere

    Cheers

Good to hear that you've returned to the fold. Adventure riding is probably not a great idea on the 1100, did the Annie not long ago but as long as the surface is sealed then
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

    Welcome!

I heard that the midlife-crisis club here is looking for members. I think from memory the requirements were either that you're fresh back to motorcycling after years of cages or new to motorcycling AND 35+... someone correct me if I'm wrong...

Well if you're thinking we're all nasty and mad.... good on you... and if you're not... YOU'RE MAD YOURSELF!!!!!

sorry, hope you get your licence soon!!!
I have deep pockets. It's just that it's a deep empty pocket...........

    Haha

I have my learners licence....but wait I have had for over 15 years after getting caught hooking a wheelie in the main street in Masterton

The Police back then were pretty good to me, making me sit my licence test (as I didnt have one) instead of whacking me with a hefty fine!

So I thought I have better finish getting it

P.S For the record I'm mad

Aha! I agree, 15 years is probably long enough to learn to ride...

As for this "middle aged club", how come young whippersnappers are eligible? Thought the mean age was about 45+? (With an appropriate number of grey hairs).
