Yip that young guy is talented alright, he was the only one on a sprotsbike who was drifting his rear tyre into the first corner on the front straight, all of us spectators were going oooh ahhhh wow! Apparently he was testing out those new Continental tyres that were on display by the registration area...looked like they passed the test to me!

Was a good and bad day for me, Got to the track after alot of stopping and checking the bikes on the trailer as they had a little coming together just out of the drive (that Guzzi was tryin to even up the odds I think) snapping off my passing light button which put me n Steve (Guzzi owner) in paranoia mode.

Got the bike scurteneered (sp?), then tryed to set up the helmet cam but was so amped I flagged it.

Was gutted to come back into the pit's and find my back tyre was cold shearing again, had a little chat to Jay's Dad who recommended I take off some preload and compression, which I did and went out for session 2. Took it easy that session but still the same problem but now because I was giving it the biscut on the right hander's the right hand side was doing the same.

So I let off some more pre-load and set the comperssion to it's softest setting, and decided to just take it easy, went out for sesson 3, was good but could have been so much better. Had to stop after that to save my $345 tyre.

Oh well shit happens, I think it's time to upgrade

All in all it was still a good day, great to meet ya Zed, nice wheelies too.

Got some footage, but didn't get a full lap cause I kept hitting the record button, doh, Can't seem to post it from work, and the phone is down at home, so you'll all have to wait.

    Chur!!

Hi r4q2. Certainly was a top day. Very well organised. Many thanks to those who did all the hard work. On the tyre issue, many of us are having problems with the cold shearing. I virtually stuffed a brand new Dunlop Qualifier and most of the damage was done in the first session. Tweaked the suspension a bit after that which helped a little but that track, in cold conditions just seems to be very hard on tyres. If you find a solution, please let us know!!!
Cool wheelies Zed, wish I could do that.

Good to see you again Fred, was a great day wasn't it! And the wheelies come down so much smoother with the Ohlins damper you sold me, cheers again for that.

Makes me feel better to know that I wasn't the only one, seems the K2 gixxer's are a bit kinder to tyres, or maybe the riders are a bit more reserved on the throttle!!
