Rugby has its actors, anyone remember when O'Driscoll went down clutching his throat after being tapped on the chest by Flavil ? Got a nice penalty under the sticks for that scene.

Football does have its problems. But I'm still 50-50 over the Aussie/Italy decision, no he didn't trip him up but he was the last man and made sure the attacker wasn't going past him with the ball.

    .

The sooner 'diving' is stamped out of both Rugby and Football the better - if I want to see bad acting I would watch Shortland Street, or a school play, or debating in Parliament.....

If you read the contents of this thread so far, you all may see why football is so popular.

Bet you dont understand cricket or chess either....
Firstly, there are still plenty of cauliflower ears on players, including the All Blacks. Good on girls who want to play rugby - but as far as I'm concerned, the 'culture' of rugby has a long way to go to improve its image. And I'm not talking about Tana (who is a genuinely lovely guy, as is Alama Iremia) and the handbag, I'm talking about the drinking, and the violence that often erupts on field at the grass roots level. And don't get me started on how much of my taxes goes towards paying for rugby injuries.

I've played chess for years - and won many games. It's not what I'd consider a sport though. And I don't personally like cricket - not because of any lack of understanding about how it's played, more the lack of understanding why grown men (and women) dress up in long pants and jumpers to play a game in the hot sun. Must have been invented by the British...

Each to his or her own, I guess, but I can't figure out why so many rugby lovers give soccer players and supporters such a hard time. Their usual comment is that it's a "poof's game". I don't subscribe to that view, it's a highly skilled game played - in many countries - by professionals.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

But its so embarrasing when the take the camera into the change rooms and film them signing it.

The cricket team has a much better tradition.
It's a like haka Boonie started - done AFTER a victory:

'Underneath the Southern Cross I stand
A sprig of Wattle in me hand
A native of me native land
    Australia - you fucking beauty!'
