    'Puter tech types

My 'puter won't boot up (currently in cyber cafe) keeps coming up with "PFN_List_Currupt"
I have tried loading fail safe default settings deleting Kazaa even some of my porn librairy but nothing seems to work. I can still get in in safe mode but can't connect to internet etc.
Any ideas, or is it F#$%ed

Using Kaaza is prolly like sleeping with a hooker off the street in Thailand (not that I would know), its fulla viral diseases.

I just formated everything and started from a clean slate again I am never using Kaaza again. They say Imesh is a lot cleaner.

Hows the bike repair going btw Chris? I would have dropped off those dvds when I was around your area but I forgot where you live lol.

Cool! Make that metalic midnight blue... (do you like metalic? I love it). Are you thinking of painting the whole bike over?

First you might want to give us a bit more info, like maybe how old the computer is what OS are you running etc.

Sounds like something on the hard drive could have been corupted, but need more info first.

Hard to diagnose without knowing what youve got.

Ps. No need to delete porn. Porn is your friend :eyepoke:

Hey chrish are you running 2000…coz I remember seeing that error on 2000…im definite it’s has nothing to do with ur kaaza though…have u tired fixboot command ...

I personally think kaaza is awesome even though there are so many security holes in there…but u can never get as many search results as kaaza …all the other p2p soft wares out there usually gives u half of the result…but as long as u have an updates anti virus installed and using diet Kaaza along with the main kaaza u should be sweet…I’ve been using it for almost 3-4 years and never had any prob…diet kaaza even stops every pop up and those adds at the bottom of kaaza…

I am possibly guessing you mean PFN_LIST_CORRUPT?? If so try this

This behavior occurs because a driver or other problem damaged the input/output (I/O) driver structures. This indicates that the memory management Page File Number list is corrupted. Can be caused by corrupt physical RAM, or by drivers passing bad memory descriptor lists

    To troubleshoot this behavior:
    1. Run hardware diagnostic tools that are provided by your computer manufacturer.
    2. Disable all file system filter drivers, such as backup utilities, virus scanners, or firewall software.
    3. View the following Microsoft Web site to verify that the hardware and the drivers for the hardware are compatible with Windows 2000: http://www.microsoft.com/hcl/default.asp

For information about the hardware on your computer, contact the manufacturer.
    4. If you receive this error message randomly, or when you try to start a program, remove extra memory or have the random access memory (RAM) in your computer tested. This behavior may occur if you have bad RAM.
Look at this table - it will tell you which error it is based on the code given:

    Parameter 1Parameter 2Parameter 3Parameter 4Cause of Error
0x01The ListHead value which was corrupt The number of pages available 0The list head was corrupt
0x02The entry in the list being removedThe highest physical page number The reference count of the entry being removedA list entry was corrupt
0x07The page frame numberThe current share count0A driver has unlocked a page more times than it locked it
0x8FNew page numberOld page number0The free or zeroed page listhead is corrupt
0x99Page frame numberCurrent page state0A PTE or PFN is corrupt

Hope this helps....if not - I see a rebuild in your future - very near future.

    Broke PC

I spend a bit of time out in Henderscum *cough* because of work. I could probably swing by and check it out if you're home during the day or work close by.

If it boots, there's a pretty high chance it's not terminal.

PM me ya details if you're keen.
