On each ne thread that you havent opened there is a tick mark to the left of the thread title. if you click it it adds the thread to your subscribed list. Never worried me though

Also, this should be in site stuff,
To every man upon this earth
    Death cometh sooner or late
And how can a man die better
    Than facing fearful odds
For the ashes of his fathers
And the temples of his Gods

I seem to be getting the same thing.... I think what your saying is getting subscrided to a thread without actually subscribing yourself? it kinda does it on its own free will.... if so thats what im getting

Have you looked at your settings in your User CP??

User CP > Edit Options > Messaging & Notification > Default Thread Subscription Mode

In that groupbox (second) you have a dropdown that allows you to choose how you subscribe to threads...

But what's the point of the subscribing to a thread?

I only just worked out about the ignore list the other day. Great it is too, one less headache

If you post anything to a thread, you are automatically subscribed to it. As and if people add more stuff to such threads, they show up in a list in your UserCP. If you don't want to see these there, click on unsubscribe.

As a person who rarely reads the forums, I rely on two lists: my subscribed threads (in UserCP) and the NewPosts list. Occasionally I miss something interesting, but not very often.

and to add to what Hitch has said, if you dont even want to know what threads you are subscribed to. just minimise that section of your user CP and you would never even know its there...
