Do any of you carry EPIRB's when out on remote rides? we recently got given them for work for when we are planning remotley by ourselfs. Plenty of hunters carry them, made me wonder if many adventure riders carry them. Pretty small and relatively low cost item for what could save your life, about $500 from memory.

    Spot tracker

I carry a Spot tracker Gen 3 I think it is , it lays down waypoints on were I have been and I can push different buttons to enable different features on it. The thing I liked while I was Aussie was I could press a button and it would send to various emails and facebook etc that I was ok and had made camp for the night etc (pre set up message).

    Epirb

I do, in my camelback. This after an incident down south where I was on a track by myself, after only seeing 2 people at the beginning of a track maybe 2 - 3 hrs previously. Made me realise how vulnerable I could potentially be. That said, I'd need to be conscious to hit the button. I have a Rescueme.
IT'S JUST BETTER WHEN THERE'S TWINS INVOLVED..

I carry my locator beacon in my top pocket where i can reach it with both hands. Friend of mine was carrying his in his back pack when he crashed and broke his back. He was travelling with friends who pulled it out and activated it. He made a full recovery and is a well known if not famous for his off road adventures .
