I do laps, but only on the race tracks. I'm not a wanna be "Boi" or a "racer", as I'm too old to be a "Boi" and have no intention of doing bike racing. I do laps at open days on the Tracks improve my skills (not because I think I'd be a good racer).

It's been going on before most of you lot were born - in the 60s as a little boi I used to watch the then teenagers driving their cars up and down the main drag and on weekends also at the beach where my Grandmother lived - they would pull the choke part way out on their 100E so it sounded like a hot cam.

Strangly enough as a teenager I did the same thing - the loop in my 38 Chev Coupe was to cruise The Parade in Bucklands Beach (where my GM lived) up to Music Point, then over to Eastern Beach, park up for awhile, then we would go to Howick and back over to Bucklands Beach, around and around and around all weekend - in those days all the chicks walked around in summer wearing just a bikini.Shit man,ya shoulda seen me...I was soooooo cool.

It didn't seem to get done on bikes - friday night was the time for bikes....we would do every bike shop in Auckland, they would be packed, with bikes lined up outside, finaly the place to end up was outside 246 in Queen St.

Nothing has changed but the cars and haircuts.

Ya also need a glum face (like you just found out your puppy had just got run over) - why is it that b/r types and a lot of todays youth seem to go around with a face like that???? - they're alive they're young and the world is their oyster if the want it

A little off-topic but took my hot-rod type truck to some drags a while ago, there was also a heap of b/r type cars too.
Mrs Scumdog video'd several runs by various cars, a couple of months later step-son had mates around for a few drinks, they thought my truck and other hot-rod type vehicles were doing "ok" and when the b/r cars fronted up on the video they said "now we'll see some REAL fast cars" - this was followed shortly after by long(er) faces when they realised the b/r cars were (in 90% of the time) a lot slower than the non hi-tech hot rods.
I guess when the b/r cars were going brrrrm--tish-brrrrrrm-tish between the lights in town they LOOKED fast, never mind, I guess most of us have been there too when we were young - but I bet we smiled a whole lot more than these guys do
