Yes correct all legit, which is the point you seem to be missing, a 28mm carb on a bike over 104cc isn't

Does it? I know he was trying to find one to make it legal ,if it isn't then it it shouldn't be getting points or racing, I make sure my bikes are legal and I know DP does to

Which bit of this don't you understand

Rule 24.2.4, F4 two stroke engines over104cc are restricted to carburation equivalent to a single 24mm carburettor
"If you can make black marks on a straight from the time you turn out of a corner until the braking point of the next turn, then you have enough power."

Seriously then Kickaha, if it's illegal then it's illegal. I'll have to change it. I'm going to get hold of an MNZ official and get a final opinon. I'll probably have to race it the way it is this coming Sunday. IF it's illegal then just exclude me from the points. In the unlikely event that I'm up the front I'll make sure I keep out of the way. I find it amusing that no-ones worried about a bike with a CR125 piston and a big carb tho.

Edit: Just rang a grade 2 Marshall. He's not sure, I'll ring MNZ on Monday.

Pistons are open, we'll check the carb on the bike concerned next meeting

Yeah Tony, CR piston is legal, check your rules.
The whole gray area is this bit
carburation equivalent to a single 24mm carburettor
It doesnt say a 24mm carb, it says "carburation equivalent" , I know this was written to cover the two stroke twins, but typical, rules are left to interpretation.
Why oh why don't the rules state that a single two stroke over 104cc shall run a maximum size car of 24mm? Instead its ambigious.....
The problem is that while TonyB may not be a hell of a lot faster what if someone else is and starts winning running a 125cc two stroke with a 32mm carb on it, then what?
Rules are rules, by all means try and clarify them, but you can't start turning a blind eye when it suits.

Will definitely try and get it clarified. If anyone thinks I'm trying to bend the rules then they've got it all wrong. If its legal I'll use it, if not I'll modify the VM24SS to fit. People who bend or ignore rules ruin motorsport.

Tony if it bothering you , Ill machine up an insert with 24mm inside diameter and we can press it into the carb. Instant legal and shouldnt affect performance because thats the size of the inlet spigot anyway. Or you could just say we made an insert.

Will it work with the slide? If you think it will then get thee to thy shed and machine like thou hast never machined before!
Can we press it in easily enough?

Let all rip our bikes apart at the next meeting so we see who cheating or not! I feel this sort of talk undermines the whole point of bucket racing, no one and I mean no one should break the rules. Buckets should be self governing if you want to cheat do so at your own peril. LETS RACE.

The bike in question was the brunt of some questions last season (all proven wrong at Levels when it shit itself an everone got to see how special it wasnt). "How can THAT bike be soooo fast"? Its down to a good rider on a good bike and knowing THAT rider as well as I do he would not intentionally break the rules. Anyone can ask HIM anything about THAT bike and it will be answered with the honest truth. Go on the doubters ask some question next sunday or will it all be said behind backs.

I'd second that,as I remember talking to him after he lunched it and he was talking about finding a 24mm carb then or sleeving his down

you also have to remember he's a bit lighter than the rest of us and he certainly isn't cleaning up as easily as he used to,in fact after 2 rounds he isn't points leader

What a can of worms my remark opened up! If people have a problem with other Bucket riders machines you can sort it out officialy by lodging a protest with Ray at the end of the next meeting but it will cost you $35 to lodge the protest and if the bike's legal you are liable all the costs establishing it's legality and bike mechanic's charge $50 a hour.I personally would hate to see that happen and I think this can be sorted out honourably by our president with some discretion on all sides.
