It'd be interesting to know who's behind Bridgepoint Capital. Generally "private equity firms" are like holding companies, and used by the extremely rich to invest.
I hope we don't see any negative effects from this.
Maybe it's my dirty pinko commie side, but I'd be a lot more comfortable and think it'd make a lot more sense if a not-for-profit organisation held the rights and ran the event. Money reinvested in the series rather than going to line one (or more's) back pocket, with the bottom line being all that matters.
