    I'm disappointed

surely they must have recorded much higher speeds, they just never caught us to ticket it.

Driver loses licence after clocking 184kmh

    4.15pm Wednesday July 5, 2006

CHRISTCHURCH - A 20-year-old Christchurch car groomer today lost his driving licence for six months after a speed camera caught him speeding at 184kmh.

Jeremy Graeme Collins blasted along the Castle Hill straight on the Arthur's Pass highway early on Good Friday.

Police said it was one of the highest speeds recorded by a speed camera in New Zealand, and Senior Sergeant Neville Hyland of the Highway Patrol described driving at such a speed as "stupid beyond belief".

Collins today pleaded guilty in Christchurch District Court to a charge of driving at a speed that might have been dangerous. He also admitted possession of 2.4g of cannabis and a pipe for smoking it, items found by police when his car was also stopped by police last week because of his manner of driving.

He was fined $500 and disqualified for six months for speeding, and fined $250 on the cannabis charges.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Those speed cameras only read to 220kmh. A guy at my school went past one and it couldn't read the speed, but there was a cop down the road

That's 387.2 kmph. The Koenigsegg is rumored to be the second fastest production car around after the Buggati Veyron.

urban myth i'm afraid. there' s pic of radisich at 265k on the puke back straight floating around somewhere.

and i've seen a pic of a honda integra crossed up about to spin out of control while braking for a speed camera. at 190km/h.

TV1 news interviewed the guy from this recent incident. I think he must have undergone some mind controling therapy, or perhaps had a micro-chip inserted somewhere during the interrogation. he is now a poster boy for the nana brigade. Good on him!.

TV1 also said that the highest recorded speedcamera ticket in NZ was for someone doing 210km/h in a farkin 50 zone!! Now that deserves a slap.
