    Going Postal!!

Bored at work? Able to see a workmates phone but he can't see you? Dial him and hang-up as he answers. As he gets used to the internal ring tone going constantly and decides not to answer, dial your company on the outside number and enter his extension number at the tone... Well ok, we didn't quite get "Postal" but it was enough to take the boredom out of an otherwise dreary day. Watching him sidle up to peoples' desks and push redial on their phones.....

Do you have someone who's "easy" in an office prank sorta way? What are the things you do to people to ease your boredom? Not mean, elaborate things but easy thing sas mentioned above.

At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

    4801.....

swapping keyboard keys and phone jacks are also good. Tying phones to chairs, removing mouse balls or sticking a tiny bit of paper of the mouse laser gets 'em going too....

How do you remove mouse balls? With really small tweezers of course!!

I can't do the hang up thing as the extension number shows on the other person's phone. But we can dial a set of numbers which makes another person's phone pick up automatically in speaker mode. Brilliant for when they are having a meeting, listen for a while and then start accusing the speaker of being a liar or something. They know who it is and always come back to give you arseholes but its still pretty funny.

I was getting pissed off with the cleaner for months and months because he could never put the head unit back on my paper shredder correctly. I'd always have to turn it around, or over, every morning.
A silly little 2 second fix thing, I know, and it wasn't really a problem on face value, what was really annoying me was that somebody could be so fucking stupid.
Having told one of my workmates about it, he agreed that the cleaner must have pretty low IQ to not be able to figure it out. So I decided it was my mission to teach him how to put it back together, without actually speaking to the guy, because I wanted to know how many hints he would have to be provided before he figured it out.
I got a marker pen and put arrow on the head and another on the bin which lined up when the thing was put back together properly. No joy, the markings were ignored.
I got some different coloured stickers and colour coded each end of the thing, and the bin. Nobody could be so stupid as to get it wrong then. Wrong. This guy must have had the intellect of a mongoloid amoeba.
I moved the shredder further away from the power outlet so that the cord would only reach one side of the bin so that it would be impossible to put the head back on the wrong way around. The cleaner would either put it back on upside down or move the bin so that he could put it on the wrong way around.
Sensing that defeat was inevitable unless I changed the rules of the game, I bought another shredder with a head unit that was impossible to place incorrectly. The problem went away, so I gave my old shredder to my workmate and wished him luck.
About a week later I laughingly asked him how many times he'd had to reset his shredder.
None, he told me, for months he'd been sneaking into my office every morning before I got to work and was turning the head unit around because he knew it would wind me up and he'd probably get a free shredder out of it.

    Bastard.

Yeap.. a few. Swapping extension lines for phones is great, "hello can I speak to matthew.." "urrr yeap sure" 'move phone 2m to next booth' etc. Hahahaha.

Another one is optical mice. Put a tiny wedge of paper into the laser pickup area (where it reads surface reflection). If you get it right the mouse will intermittantly work or else slightly move across the screen.. it's great and confuses fellow techhies for a while. They start unplugging stuff to try fix it instead of starting at layer 1... the pickup. Another one is to double side tape the mouse to the desk.. use lots. and some bluetack. Or just superglue it if you are daring enough.

As I work in IT there is all sorts of tricks to do with anything that plugs into the computer or on the computer. One thing is to drag all the icons on top of each other, or make them all hidden... or change the theme font size to 20+ so it's massive... change home pages to some 'gay' site etc. Unplug things so they intermittantly work or plug them so it looks like it's in so they go trying software fixes first etc.

Putting adjustable chairs all the way down to their stops or else tilting them all the way gets interesting results too. Or pranking people from another room. Occasionally making groaning or weird noises and then glaring at people who look at you is good too.. they think you have gone nuts! Hehehehsahahaha

    Blah

Try this, glue the handpeice of the phone to the handset, and then ring the phone....works exceptionally well with a wallmount phone...people literally rip the sucker off the wall
