I know about the war and tension between North and South Korea, but I wasnt aware that the US had any other influence apart from arming the South Koreans and helping them train. I used to know more, but gave up checking them out a while ago

4. Ummm... if it was like Iraq situation, americans will be invading North Korea right now... they're not. Also if they did invade North Korea, it would be a war for South Koreans not Americans... South Koreans have also been trying to "peacefully reunite" the Koean people for decades now so war just won't fly. (and south koreans yell really really loud.)
5. Because it makes them feel important. It's just like the local councils bark and moan all the time and deny people resource consents because it makes them feel all important.
