Or the powers that be (the Murdochs and media barons of this world) wouldnt report it very widely - after all - they're just muslim peasants from some part of the world no one in the west much knows of,fighting the might of another large power!
The Beslan incident was a tragedy, but the Russian authorities weren't lily white there as well.
In conflicts like these, there are no heroes, there is no such thing as a "clean" fight - both sides fight to the dirtiest of their abilities and sensibilities , particularly of people in the West, are sorely affronted.
But, as far as people like this are concerned, it is a bitter struggle to the death and the ends justify the means - we may think its sick and depraved, but thats the way it is, and, really, always has been. Its conflict in all its dirt, horror and filth, laid bare. Women? Children? how about all their women and children that have been slaughtered?
I sure don't approve of what was done, but people should actually take a CLOSE look at what is going on before frothing of at the mouth - here and elsewhere in the world.
