    Pink Floyd - Pulse

I was going to post this in the recent 'Floyd' thread, but I figure it deserves a thread of its own.

After many delays the Pulse concert is finally out on DVD, was it worth the wait....... HELL YES!!!!

I have watched the first half of the concert and most of the extras. Will watch the second half tonight when it is dark (I am lucky enough to have a 120 inch wide screen and projector, but I can't make the room completely dark)

    Highlights so far
    • The picture looks great, especially compared to the video version. Lots of detail and great colour.
    • The sound is much improved and has a fantastic surround ambiance. There is a higher bit rate sound track available if your DVD player can support it, mine can't.
    • The music, gotta love those songs. Right from the opening 'Shine on' I was hooked.
    • The light show. Just as amazing as I remember it. I haven't watched the video for a while now, but it lived up to the memory.
    • The extras, lots of interesting stuff.

    Low lights
Only a couple of minor things so far.
    • The disks are very firmly held in the case and were difficult to get out. Disk one is also over the top of disk two so has to be removed to get at the second disk.
    • Speaking of two disks, I hate it when a concert is split over two disks.

So, I am looking forward to tonight. 'DSOM', 'Wish you were here' and 'Comfortably numb' are the highlights of this amazing concert in my opinion.

If you are a fan, this is a must have.
If you like big concerts with amazing light shows, this is a must have.

Had a copy of the video (not sure where it is now), and saw an ad on the tv for the DVD.
Its a great concert, and the effects are brilliant, crashing planes, pigs, and the lightshow, bloody amazing.
Will have to get me a copy as soon as the bike gets a service.

Pulse was based on the '94 World Tour I think.
I went to the concert at Western Springs - fantastic!

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

Got my copy yesterday and have just finished the second disk.

    Only one word...Brilliant!!!!

I'm lucky...my set-up played the higher bit-rate and it sounds fantastic on the surround system at home and looks great on the 42" plasma.

I too have been waiting a long time for this disk so the wife has been regelated to the 14" TV in the bedroom last night and tonight

    Kendog...agree with your comments totally.

My only disapointment was the white back-up singers vocals in The Great Gig in the Sky. THe black chick that did the second half was much better.

Are you kidding? That's Sam Brown - her solo on Great Gig is great! A really sexy growl that turns my knees to jelly.........
