    Latest Mod on my Hornet

Ok kids, so purchased a Power commander off Pritch08 last year sometime and it's been sitting on my garage work bench waiting for me to save some pinger to get it installed, however was informed that I should really get it dyno tuned at the same time, especially after having the exhausts changed. My bike has been noticeably jerky at low revs since the exhausts were changed, have learned to live with it, but the time had come to get it sorted.
Took the bike into Wellington Motorcycles Yesterday morning, told them they could have it the whole week to change the front sprocket, install the power commander, dyno tune and service my baby. They rang this avo to let me know it was all done and ready to take home, now THAT is service!!
So hubby dearest collected said beast and I took it for a spin when I got home from work.
    WEEE JOY RAPTURE
Smooth, is the first thing I thought, that and , "oh goodness, the power comes on fast now", no more waiting about for it to decide to do something, instant power, revs higher and smoother and gets up to speeds I should not be traveling rather quickly now. Have to say, almost as exciting as the Gixer now, just more comfortable getting there.
Gear changing is also way way easier. I just have to touch the leaver with my boot and up it shifts. Sweet!!!
So there you are, warned you it wasn't exciting, look at this type of bling, but actually more exciting in the riding performance stakes. Now I just need Flame to show me how to do those wheelies!!!

In the brief ride I had, it really has made a big difference. Smoother crisper throttle, power on earlier in the rev range and the gear change is sublime.

I will be happier to swap bikes now

Yes Skelsy, much easier to wring its neck now, was having a play last night and it's frighteningly easy now, hohohohoho.
And a radar detector may be a good idea...... nah, I'm a good girl and can try to restrain myself!

I like how all these keen big ol'hornet riders are doing pre-testing of bling for me! That way I can just put on all the tasty stuff no problem!

Think you need to find a track out the back of the rapa and REALLY wring its neck.

Good service and well done Welly Motorcycles! Why is it I only ever here good service stories about Wellington bike shops, and crap service stories (and personal experiences too) about Chch bike shops? Something's amiss...

Anyway, great to hear the power commander has finally been installed and nicely tuned, sounds like it'd feel like a whole new bike! After test riding a 900 Hornet myself the other day, and wondering if I was wearing my ear plugs when I wasn't, it was that quiet, I'd say that the exhaust mod would have to be compulsory if you like hearing your bike, as I do...

Must be about due some more pics, eh?

So what has improved the gearbox? Mines a bit 'crunchy' sometimes.

I have a feeling the sprocket change made the difference with the gear changing, from what I have read about other people that have done this.

That's interesting to know as even my VTR always crunched into second gear.

Went for a ride over the hill last night. This is a different bike now, sooooooo much fun

Smooth, smooth, smooth, the revs roll on without any hesitation. This bike really is a lot of fun to ride!
