What kind of riding do you do btw? commuting/"spirited' riding/ touring....?

weekend long tours with the missus on back every 2 months. (roughly)
2 rides every week (which always turn out to be "spirited")
the mid week rides is normally about 100-130kms long
the weekend ride often develops into a 500 kms all day ride (much to the disapproval of the wife ) .. but not always
the occassional commute (but tyres cost too much to go to work and back again )

the edge of the rear tyre has been found more than once

Occassionally "back in" to a corner .. which is hard on rear tyres

    so mostly "spirited" riding

Sweet as, the 400km of commuting that I do every week is my main problem.... think I need a commuting bike and a "fun" bike.....

How 'bout the rest of you Hornet rider?

As an acomplas to TA's "spirited" rides. I am on the Diablo Strada's and was amazed at their lack of wear during our SI adventure. That was 2 up + pack and 4500k's. What amazed me was the lack of wear. The riding was sidate and over christmas/new year weather was coolish, but comparing the front before and after, it was if I had done a ride around the block.
Now was it the dual compound Strada or was it the cooler weather.. Mm Probably the later but I'll prob keep with them when it comes time to change

Got 10000kms out of a Strada rear, 10000kms out of ContiRoadAttack rear and front. Only about 5000kms out of a SportAttack rear (spirited SI touring). Will be gettting Road Attacks again.

    100km commute each week.
Bit of a blat in the weekends and the odd trip round the North Island.

Bridgestone BT20's 12,000km on the back. But probably should have been replaced about 1000km earlier

Swapped front and back to Road attacks. These feel good and have done about 5,000km so far. Wear looks pretty good.

The replacement for the BT20's, the BT21 sound like a good type and will probably be what I go to next.

    Hey Guys

Sorry about the rather unexplained entry to this thread but im really after something like this as the naked look is what im after ( couldnt live with myself if i dropped etc ) anyway a few questions on the hornets 250 in particular.

    1. What sort of "go" do these things have how torquey and powerfull ?
    2. Any outa the shop upgrades you would suggest i see lower bars is quite a common thought
    3. Could i use one for a track day ( a little supermoto ) with a few of modifications to make it moto friendly.
    4. Most importantly i suposse would you suggest/reccomend the hornet to me (6ft 85 kg).

    Thanks Alot Guys

    Great Thread

    Calling GIJOE.

BTM, not sure about the 250 other than it looks like a great bike

Send GIJOE1313 a PM, he has one and has done plenty of K's and mods.

Nah, I'll try to chase them up for ya from here, but if they can't track them down, we'll just refund ya. That really shits me though, damn it, I hate when things go missing like that!

quik blat over the divi and back again:

lights increase "ambient" light .. meaning I can't see more around me, for about 80 metres maybe.

I hear rumours that I can get different bulbs tht produce a different light pattern .. either way, much improvement in night vision
