Dusty Butt 1000km - We knocked the bugger off what next?
Taupo booking form asks which track?
1.3 km
2.2 km or
3.5?
Also asks for a date, with two alternatives.
Saturday would be best I think, might come up with some options and start a new thread to get some votes.
Keen?

Sweet as, I've registered and entered the party code
Was just talking to my boss (he ran a private security company in Australia which worked for events such as concerts.)
He said we should check with the Taupo council (or the Track guys) if you need a permit to hold a public partty/event. You also may need so many security staff per amount of people (e.g 1 security staff for say every 60 people). If you are doing events such as stunting, drags etc, you may need to look into getting public liability insurance (incase the bike/car looses control and goes into the crowd). You may also need personal liability forms for everyone entering the stunts/drags/racing so the venue and organiser/sponser are not held responsible for personal injuries...
I'll try to track down the number for a guy who has a rodeo machine and see how much he charges to set up for a day (we pay once.... they ride for free all day... they had one in the Red bull)
I'm not a complete idiot... some pieces are missing![]()

the really happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery when on a detour.
Ok Promo King (0800 800 FUN) can hire out a Mechanical Bull rodeo for $795+GST for 4 hours. They can provide one for Taupo or anywhere else.
So we pay once, people ride for free for period of hire. Really fun machines![]()

Well I've been having a look around at what my boss said about the planning and possibly needing council permission.
Here is the link to the Taupo Council page about Planning an Event: http://www.taupodc.govt.nz/councilse...r+occasion.htm
However, with some of those, its only required when using council land (reserves e.t.c).
Some that will apply to this party are:
The following only required if using an outside caterer...
And this one: (which Coruba might sort out????)Food Stalls and Permits - Food Stall Operators
All food services at an event must be with registered operators. They could either be a registered mobile shop which enables them to be completely self-contained, or registered as a food premises (at another location) and effectively catering at an event. The only exception is when a non-profit making organisation which sets up an occasional food stall for fund raising.
To view or download the guideline for intended mobile shops and stall holders click HERE ( 25 kb PDF ). In all cases the Event organiser is responsible for ensuring that these guidelines are adhered to. If an event is on Taupo District Council open public space, it is necessary to indicate any intentions of the presence of food traders.
For significant events Council staff may require further details about who the traders are and what they intend to sell, as well as essential services like the provision of water supplies, ablutions and other facilities to be provided. In addition, the Food Safety Bylaw may require qualified personnel (in food handling) to supervise onsite food preparation.
Event Organiser’s Responsibilities
The event organiser is responsible for informing food traders on the requirements for preparing food at a Taupo Event. If there are a large number of food sellers at your event, an appointment can be made with an Environmental Health Officer who can provide advice on what standards are expected when selling food in public.
An application to operate a food stall should be used by an event organiser to ensure that food safety is addressed. To view or download click HERE ( 19 kb PDF ). Where possible you should use traders approved by Council who have a current Food Handling Hygiene Certificate. This ensures a high standard as those who do not meet criteria set down are refused licences. From time to time Environmental Health Officers attend events to ensure standards are being maintained.
And this one:Liquor Licences
If the intention is to sell or supply alcohol to the public at an event a special licence may be required.
The licensing inspector and local police may specify that a manager’s certificate is held by the person in charge of bar facilities. This person must be on site at all times during the period specified in the special licence.
There is a licence of $63 when applying for a special liquor licence. Allow at least 20 working days when applying for a special licence.
For more information regarding Liquor Licensing click HERE.
And this one: (if you decide to use mechanical bull)Fire Works
Department of Labour certificates are required for fireworks displays. Always ensure a reputable licensed operator is contracted. For more information, contact Occupational Safety and Health Service on 07 347 9656.
And there are a bunch more...Amusement Device Licences
If amusement devices are part of the event, there is an obligation to ensure the event organisation is registered with Occupational Health and Safety and licensed by Taupo District Council to operate. Examples of amusement devices are: merry-go-round, ferris wheel or other such interactive activities. For more information contact Environmental Services, Taupo District Council on 07 376 0899.
What a pain in the butt... no wonder Coruba want other people to organise it lol

Track 3 $6120 incl GST (both tracks, can be run independant of each other)
16/9 and 23/12 are the only dates available.
Track 2 $4470 incl GST
30/9, 18/11, 16/12, 23/12
Hirage includes permission to camp over night; They have an area that "should be alright" to have a band/s; The old camping area has camp power, the new one does not; the new camp area would have to be where the band goes; track must close at 5pm due to resource consent.
Cleanup and security has a cost: TBA (will see if we can use Lions)
We would have to arrange porataloos for the camping/entertainment area.

Guys --Um is this a Definite type thing or is the idea being "sold" to Caruba??
One issue wiorth concidering is the perception of a booze company being asociated with a High speed motor cycle event.
The whole drink/driving issue comes to mind
To see a life newly created. To watch it grow and prosper. Isn't that the greatest gift a human being can be given?
Umm it is a pitch for the Coruba PartyOriginally Posted by FROSTY
If you took the time to read the posts then you would understand the reasons behind it as well as some of the objectives in regards to the whole drink driving issue??
We have asked for ideas/opinions for the past week or two??
Thanks for your feedback
