Life's Winners
After reading the threads on poverty and life's losers I came across this article on Stuff (see below). Now is it just me or is was this guy seriously stooopid? First you do a runner from the scene of an accident, THEN you do a runner from the cops (I can't point fingers for that), THEN you ram a stationery police car, THEN you drag the cop down the road? Sure, it earns kudos in prison, but FFS that's some pretty serious charges there!! I bet he resisted the dog too, and resisted again in the back of the police car, and again in the cells...
Oh well, back to work, I've got taxes to earn for these idiots.
Policeman dragged 50m by fleeing driver
12 July 2006
A heavy duty radio casing saved a west Auckland policeman from serious injury after he was dragged along the road by a fleeing driver yesterday.
The driver was arrested and was due in court today and the policeman was recovering at home from cuts, abrasions and bruises to his lips, shoulders, hands and both knees. His uniform trousers were torn at the knees.
The policeman had tried to stop a car and speak to the driver about a hit and run incident in the west Auckland suburb of Massey.
The incident began when police were told two vehicles had crashed into a third car at speed before speeding off.
One of the damaged cars was spotted by police about an hour and a half later and pursued but the four occupants eluded police when they ran into Starling Park, Ranui.
Half an hour later the second damaged car was seen and also chased into Henderson.
During the chase it rammed a stationary police car and one of the policemen in the pursuing car tried to disable the car being chased.

Police spokesman, Kevin Loughlin, said the policeman's heavy duty radio casing saved him from more serious injury when it acted as a buffer between his body and the road.
The driver of the car was found by police dogs and was due to appear today in Waitakere District Court on several charges.
The injured policeman was treated by ambulance officers.
