We need to ask Allah or that other guy this question - it's too hard for mortals.

The other guy being Augie Auer ????

You certainly can't believe the forecasters - Im amazed they even bother trying to predict Friday's weather on a Sunday prior - what a joke. By Tuesday it has all changed. Nothing beats looking out the window in the morning....

Na, when it comes to rain you need to watch out for a lorry with (I think) "MacKinners All-Weather Transport" printed on the side. Any how it rains where ever he goes because rain cloud like to make him happy. He's a rain god but doesn't know it (In "So Long and Thanks For All The Fish").

Maybe it is but the cars are crap,we managed to roll one three times in one weekend and twice in 15 minutes.

I've read the books but the TV series was great as well, but I really think they should have got Marvin a bit of psychiatric help.

Yar, poor old Marvin. Brain the size of a planet and they get him to open door! I think he "lived to be at least 3 x older that the Universe (time travel) and they never bother to fix the terrible pain in all the diodes down his left hand side.
But he did get to see God's last message to his creation.

Crap, sure (although the 107E I had in maroon with whitewall tyres was quite cute), but tough crap. I rolled the 105E (no seatbelt in those days) and walked away without a scratch - roof hardly dented at all.

Oooh, and you actually met DNA in person? I suppose you have an autographed HHGTTG then. Lucky bastard.
Course nice girls do. It's my problem. It takes me a couple of years to get over the birthing process, and then there's all the psych stuff with having sex with someone's mother.

    But anyhoo...

At the risk of blowing a few preconceptions about Mr Adams, and tilting my karmic imbalance in a negative direction, I was working for him which meant one was treated like a doormat. He didn't rate NZ highly, and such was his disdain for our "culture" (somehow he used to say that word with the inverted commas when talking about NZ) he turned up to a formal dinner in T-Shirt, "slacks" and "plimsols", as he so elegantly called his cheap white sneakers. He also refused to speak to anyone except the Managing Director of William Collins, so I think the general message was that I should be privileged to be in his presence. Of course I felt I was, but it was still a fairly demeaning experience overall.

I don't have an autographed copy of any of Mr Adam's work, even though I came prepared with the HHGTTG I chose for my 5th form History prize. It has a certificate in front and everything. I showed it to him, he opened it and burst out laughing and handed it back.
