Inmates banned from reading “Easy Rider”

Two Indianapolis inmates have filed a lawsuit against the Indiana Department of Correction – as they are banned from reading Easy Rider magazine!

A policy was put in force from 1st July barring ‘adult magazines and other printed material that depict nudity or sexual content’ – and Easy Rider, as we all know, features partial nudity. This policy could also potentially ban education material such as National Geographic magazine.

Over 20,000 inmates could benefit from the legal action taken by Ernest Tope, 53 and Wade Meisberger, 34. Department of Correction spokesman Java Ahmed said agency officials had not yet reviewed the lawsuit.
