Those VTRs are lovely bikes (not that I'm biased having learnt to ride on one myself) so good on you for repairing the damage yourself.
Good to see you have regained your confidence after the off.

Well bugger me sideways if I haven't come on a bit since I started this thread.
Actually managed to meet a fair few of the folk that replied back in the early days.
I'm amazed in fact at the number of people that have been really helpful in the past 6 months.
I've done the RRRS, I've done a Taupo track Day and I've got myself a Mentor (who wouldn't show me how to lanesplit on SH1 ...coz he was driving a cage at the time!).
Some people might think I've learned a lot..I probably have but what I have really found out is just how ignorant of a lot of stuf I really am. We never stop learning.
This post is for all the noobs that are currently in the same position as I was 6 months ago.
Do the RRRS, Get a Mentor, Do a Track Day, ask questions, learn from better riders.
KB is a great place for all this.
In space, no one can smell your fart.
Has the Mysterions gotten to you McJim? You've come over all sentimental like! But yes, know what you mean - I still haven't managed to do the RRRS yet nor a track day! When I think back about how much I didn't know, and now realise how much more I still don't know, I know that you all know what I know!
So big ups to you McJim! Meeting you and the all the other mad passionate bikers out there makes me realise how scary society can be!![]()
"I like to ride anyplace, anywhere, any time, any way!"![]()
Yeah, so are we gonna see you two mad buggers (gijoe and McJim) down this way over the break? Either of you goning to make your way to Manfield for the trackday on 13th of Jan? Love to catch up with you again Justin and meet you McJim, couple of caracters from Dorkland.![]()
Like a homing pigeon, I always come back to the nest! The grassroots that is Wellington calls to me ... and any excuse for a bike ride! It seems my whanau have made plans for meGranny is a bit ill and parents seem keen to marry me off ASAP ... I will need to flee for the hills and far away! So..watch out for a speeding little ol'Hornet loaded up with gear and a Pikachu in your neck of the woods soon!

Characters from Dorkland or Daracters from Corkland (which is in Ireland I think)?
Haha. Unlike gijoe I'm trying to retain the resale value of my VTR (could be ready for a big bike by the beginning of Feb!) I can't afford the mileage of visiting Welly.
However once I've got myself a large capacity bike that I will keep for a decade or more I won't care about piling on the k's and will make an excuse to visit the missus' rellies.
When are the Kendog's visiting Auckland?
And what is the easy way to flick between 2 identities on one pc? I share this computer with Chickadee.

Hey McJim, welcome to the site. :P
Figgers, everyone wants to give away their poor ol'two fiddies so they can get a "proper" bike! Shame for shame McJim! I've said it before, and I'll say it again - this little ol'Hornet will be mine, mine and mine - forever and ever, and I will hug it and wash it and talk to it and polish it and change it's oil and reoil it's forks and love it and ride it and ....![]()
you get the idea ...
I'm not your normal run of the mill nutter, I've been told off by my pillion Pikachu that my eccentricities will get me disbarred from being a "proper" biker. Anyhow, I have more insane ideas for my poor little ol'Hornet and will be working on it to completion!
Now...where can I get my hands on a two-stroke engine?![]()

You go to Control Panel and then click Users, then set up a new user. It will ask you to choose every time you log on and it'll remember your passwords and all.
Or you can just use a different browser. For example I use Firefox and my brother uses Explorer, and the firefox one recognises me for KB and explorer my bro.
Determined to kill my bike before it kills me
