True that. I got smacked when I was about 19 (eons ago now), just standing there and suddenly guy turns around and ko's me.

He told the judge "he was getting smart". He got given a suspended sentence which pretty much means a smack on the wrist.

I got concussion, stitches, bruising, headaches and a healthy disrespect for our justice system....

Sorry to hear metric, i can empathise.

Sounds like it was a bad experience and I'm on your side here but....

If you see stuff like that on the street - the best place to be is someplace else because someone is going to get a whack and their are no winners... Too much random violence out there..

I'd just go back inside and ring the cops... Standing there watching was probably not a good choice.

Easy for me to say of course - I was safely in bed...

Sorry to hear Bro. Good idea to post as it reminds us not to talk to Polys. I mean keep out heads down when someones in trouble. Shit.... what should we do? Ring the Police?

Get well soon. And only to talk to drunk white women.

Unfortunately Paul is right - even being in the same place puts you at risk when shit like this goes down. I remember getting smacked in the head by a woman once. My crime? I was standing there doing nothing and she turned around and said "what are you staring at?" and I foolishly replied "nothing". She said "so I'm NOTHING, am I?" No right answer to that question so I kept my mouth shut but still got whacked!

I think that too many people use their fists as a first resort rather than a last and I doubt it's going to get better. When you see ambulance officers get assaulted for doing their job, you know things have changed for the worse.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

Dont complain about it mate, he was black so hes allowed to have a chip on his shoulder the size of mt everest because us honkeys have been oppressing him his whole life, and society owes him a better lifestyle than he currently has as a dopehead on the dole.

Bring back dawn raids and 0800 DOB A FOB imo.

hey thanks guys for the nice words

yeah I know, I probably shouldn't have been standing there watching, instead should have just kept walking straight to the nearest taxi...

i am considering doing something about it, not sure about laying charges because i don't know who did it, but I will file a report once I'm back at work in a couple of days

I'm also going to drop the management of the club an email, I was turned away by the bouncer after I'd just been smacked in the head... I'm thinking the least thing he could have done was call an ambulance

I'm just lucky that I kept my feet and didn't hit the curb - the ED doc told me that it's a regular occurance that people get hit in the head, head hits the concrete, brain goes dead in the head...

good on ya speedie - much respect for ambo's & doc's @ ED

might not be heading into town for a while now

Hi Metri, sorry to hear about your injuries mate, I think you should definitely lay a complaint with the police asap. That way they can check the camera footage

Why do you feel the need to speak on his behalf Alex, is it because you support his racist remarks??

In Metrics case it could have easily been a 'honkey' who threw the punch, you guys need to live a little longer and see for yourselves that the white man is just as guilty of random unwarranted violence!

And btw, Metric hasn't at this stage involved the authorities or the justice system, so you guys are jumping to conclusions about any possible outcome. I personally know plenty of Maori and Pacific Islanders, and the way you guys generalise about them is nothing short of blatant racism as far as i'm concerned so shut your cake holes!

the way I see it (out of my one good eye) is that I got smacked by a polynesian fella, it could have been a white guy, could have been an asian...

I was in the wrong place at the wrong time

    Cool

Hey lets all setle down and not turn this into a war on the site.

There are good and bad in all nationalities.

Metric just mentioned that the dude that hit him was of PI descent.

I also mentioned that my friend was bashed without no justifcation by a person of PI Descent.

As Metric says it could be anyone who goes out to bash up people.
Neither I nor metric were generalising just stating a fact that the offender was of PI descent.

Sokay.. Let Zed hold onto his brainwashed guilt and apologise for being white.

Are their immigrants who are decent people? Sure.. But far far too many of them are good for nothing pieces of shit who shouldnt have been let into the country in the first place. Many PI immigrants in particular seem to be following maori into the whole "gangster" attitude and blaming everything wrong in their lives on everyone but themselves. Personally I'm utterly sick of being told that as a white person I'm responsible for everything from poverty to cancer to the kahui twins being beaten to death by their waste-of-oxygen family.

As for me being racist? I am to some degree, I think most people are. I'm far more nationalist than racist thou, I dont care what colour you are as long as when you come to my country you obey our laws, our way of life, our cultural norms etc. See my signature

I'm hardly the raving nazi that Zed would like me to be thou, it would make life mighty interesting given I work in a mostly maori organisation.
