Bike perfectly ok one day and no spark the next day!

I thought I'd share the following experience with fellow KB. The bike is a CBR400RR NC23. The bike never failed to start with the press of the starter button without needing choke. Got Crazefox to do a complete paint job of the fairings. He has done a very good job, good price, good communication, pretty relax about the deal. Highly recommended.

Having put all the new fairings in place, the darn bike won't start. It will just crank over but refused to start. Did a quick check and found that there was absolutely no spark. This was traced to a flaky pulse generator or pick up coils (one of the two coils appear to be showing no resistance). With a bit of cleaning, both coils show 420ohms - as required. Put the part back on, press the starter button, and the bike just go kaboon......a small backfire from the muffler due to excess petrol and then settle down ready to rock .

I wasn't too happy with the real possibility of being stranded in case the coil failed again. Did some sourcing and found that Bryce from Bucket and Bits has one. Got it from him the next day, fitted it in and now happy with it with a spare in the tool compartment I will have to say that I don't have problem dealing with Bucket and Bits over the few times that I have dealing with them. Bryce is pretty helpful in my dealings with him.

Possible but I think you will be taking pot luck if you are getting it overseas unless you get it spot on. Try here http://stores.ebay.com/RMSTATOR . A new one would have set me back a few hundred dollars.
