Racing Girls? Now THATS what I'm talking about~!
...anyway, back to the Suzuka: I can't find where the link is for streaming the Realvideo???
Apparently they are going to be streaming the whole race and from various angles. Viewers will be able to change camera angles etc. Nice!
But how?
Don't suppose Brian'D or someone else can find out how, or post the exact link to put into my player, could they?
Looking forward to it~!

The Suzuka Circuit will make Internet history on Sunday by hosting the first live, multi-channel Internet broadcast of the Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours for fans around the world.
“Television broadcasting is limited,” explained Suzuka Circuit General Manager Tetsuo Mihara. “This system, users can change cameras and enjoy. This is the first one, anywhere in the world, in motor racing that users can watch on the PC and switch cameras. It has not been done in car racing.”
Best of all, the system is completely free. No registration or special software is required, though users will need to have Real Player installed on their computer. Surfers with a 300 kbps or better connection to the internet can enjoy high-quality broadband video, while others with analog modems or ISDN lines below 128 kbps can watch through a narrowband connection.
Once connected to the Suzuka 8 Hours web stream site, www.8tailive.com – ‘tai’ is Japanese for ‘endurance’, users can select from five fixed camera locations, and the Japanese television network feed. One the right side of their PC screens Suzuka will update current running order and lap times.
Fans in Japan that own the latest hi-tech cell phones with color LCD displays can watch the 8 Hours live on the phone!
“These years we have a lot of television broadcasting, motorcycle race and car race, in Japan,” said Mihara-san. “Since last year the streaming technology has improved. I am very interested in the streaming technologies. If we can, I want to broadcast all over the world through the personal computers. So I studied about the streaming technologies since last year. I asked a Japanese company, J-Stream, about the streaming technology, and another company, Trans Cosmos. J-Stream is the biggest company about streaming technology in Japan. They have a big streaming computer server.”
According to Mihara, J-Stream predicts that they can host 600,000 broadband viewers in Japan. How many broadband viewers can watch outside of Japan is unpredictable due to bottlenecks in various regions on the web. Whatever the actual number turns out to be is not important at this point. “This technology is for the future,” said Mihara.
While the race is in progress a team of 11 people and 24 computers will be providing the video and lap data to the web site. The personnel and hardware have all been organized in just three months. Honda and J-Stream are providing financial support for the project.
“If we had more time – two weeks or one month – we could have tried multiple on-board cameras,” explained Mihara. “And allow users to switch on-board cameras. But this is the first time. Maybe next year … or maybe even this month for the Suzuka 1000 km sports car race.”
The live streaming begins at 11 a.m. August 4 in Japan, with a race start at 11:30 a.m. That converts to 10:30 p.m. EST, 9:30 p.m. CST, 8:30 p.m. MST, and 7:30 p.m. PST.
Have a look at the first post ..its the same site , the thing is what we are looking for is the steam, As of yet it hasnt appeared, following the links to either Yahoo bb or Yahoo premium doesnt show a link
Maybe it will show up tomorrow

It gives me hope when I see some people "getting" how truely liberating new technology can be.
Shame they're using freaking realmedia. If necessary though I'll boot up my old windows drive and watch it on that.
Bring it on. Would be cooler still if they had multiple language audio chanels. Just as you'll be able to choose between camera angles, you should be able to choose between the language for your commentary.
Might have to send them a big "good on you" email and include that suggestion. Will be nice next year with the onboard cameras too.

The strange thing is that Yes Japan is computer leader sort of thing , but most of the people I know dont use computers My wifes friends all text on phones , and only the men use computers and of those it tends to be a few younger men
But did you see what happened to Ess Tv , they were forced to close by the big guns
The writing is on the wall for TV NZ , pay to view or free cast NO adverts and content that you control
Bye TV NZ

Still no sight of the supposed 'free' streaming Suzuka racing and there's only 10 hours left 'till race time!
That www.8tailive.com just seems to take me to the main suzuka site (all in Japanese I might add) anyway.
Thanks for the YahooBB link BD, but that's also all in Japanese (if it were in Korean I might have had a chance...)
Waiting with baited breath if the Realplayer thing shows up or not...![]()

I can see the link to YahooBB on the website, but nothing to do with the Realaudio stream.
I'm beginning to think that article about the 'free live streaming' was full of bull shivers...
