    Scooter rides in Auckland

Hi guys, just wanting to know how many would be interested in meeting up for a coffee at our shop, on the house of course and then heading out for a ride. Was thinking maybe a Saturday, 2pm. Would be keen to make this a regular event. Please post back with your comments?????

    Run

Not sure whether that run ever took place, to be honest. If you are interested in Scooter runs in and around Auckland, check out the Magnetos website. On Sunday we are riding to Puhoi via Helensville, leaving Galbraiths at 10am.

    Hey Ice!

Welcome to Kiwibiker! A few of your fellow Magnetos post in these forums too. Yeah, have been trying to get a few of these guys to come on Magnetos runs. The run out to Wellsford was wicked on the weekend! You other scooter riders, join up!

    Hi Ice180

No wanting to hijack the thread but........

was wondering what speeds you got out of your 125. Ive got a 150 scooter so was interested to compare performance.

Ice gets far too much speed - I recall him getting around 140kph?

    Always a pleasure

I think he's had 140ish out of the Gilera, not the Italjet. I'd be surprised if that did much more than 110

In that case, you need an expansion chamber and a bigger a carb = more power at the top end. I got an indicated 70mph on Toy Run at the weekend, which is the calculated top speed from when I had it dyno'd an I've only got 186cc.

    Plans....

Yes, I have plans to make it go faster! Standard, the PX is no rabbit. I did chuckle when I saw an ad on Trademe for a one-year old PX and the owner claimed a top speed of 130km/h.....better than a GTS250!

That would be the standard PX speedo optimism....

Me and speed I would not do such a thing

But on the formula 125 which is a inline twin 2T engine the speedo says 135kmh and I am over taking cars on the motorway but I feel it is more 115kmh

the runner is a 180 and has been dynoed at 19hp at the rear wheel
but yes the runner can keep up on the motorway with traffic quite nicely.
