Don't get fooled by the age of whiskey. That's just the length of time it spends in port or sherry casks, and they are stored for differing lengths of time to bring out different qualities. I like the Bowmore 10yr in preference to the 18yr, and the 10 yr Lagvulin in preference to the 16yr. Different distilleries play around with different lengths of time, and bottling can be an issue too. I prefer a screw top to a cork and foil.I like the old wiskeys (15 years +) but cant ever afford
