time trials?? I'd be keen to stand on the side & watch that

Has anyone ever timed them selves? what is the fastest time over the hill on a 250? where do you time your self from? do you stick to the speed limit? just curios. I love playing on the takas on Sundays but I know I am no match for most people but I still ride as hard as I can over it
Anything approaching 5mins flat is a quick lap time on the hill on the upper hutt-top side. Not sure about feathers-top side as its not quite as fast and is a little longer. Downhill, no idea but suspect it may be a little slower

I recall a thread once in the dank and dark mists of time that noted some ludicrously quick bridge-to-bridge times for the Takas. Many I suspect were recorded in those more gentle times before horse floats and SUVs on the wrong side of the road...

This is starting to get dangerous, someone is going to get hurt & i hope I'm no where near any of you when it happens.
And just for the record both our 636's are green

I bet nobody will beat Fatjim's uphill climb time.

Not once I've whispered in his ears that there's pies at the cafe.

Although Pex will be hot on his tail!

Yet your signature implies you like to live on the edge ?

Everyone's ability is different and what you might find dangerous may be a walk in the park for someone else.

It's not them I'm worried about!

I'm tired of being thoroughly embarrassed by those damn KLX's.

Im talking about the way everyone is going on about how fast they can go over the Taka's, yes I like to ride fast but I do it in such a way that I'm not encouraging others to try & keep up or try things i can do when I know their ability is not to any sort of level where they can safely keep up. This thread seems to be encouraging riders with a leser ability than your own & others you ride with to ride at a speed where an accident is the most likely outcome.
How would you feel when a learner see's you racing off into the distance & thinks if he can do it so can I - normal outcome of this is a trip to hospital.

Hey ride fast & hard but think about who you are influencing & their ability.

As for who can go over the Taka's the fastest

I wish that I could go over the Taka's faster... But that's purely for the adrenaline rush as I suspect is the same for everyone else?!

The Takas should always be treated with the respect they deserve. They are demanding enough to fully test a rider of any ability and pretty unforgiving for anybody who gets it wrong, or who encounters somebody else who has got it wrong. Anybody who safely pilots their ride to the top and down again deserves respect. The speed or the size and number of pies involved should always be a secondary consideration to personal comfort and safety.

I think I'm in for the speed/size/pies ratio winner!

Rarely do hear direct competition on these forums (or in my threads ) regarding peice of road. General banter maybe, but not serious. This is why Ive never seen an actual time stated, or hear of one being recorded on this forum (or real life).

Anyone who is making it their mission to be faster than everyone else on that hill needs the head checked.
