    Best squid machine is...

what would be the best stunter? Ideally, it'd be cheap, lots of parts off the shelf and at wreckers, torquey (altho gearing would help), easy to fix and bugger all to it (less there is, the less to break)..

    So what would it be?
or what would your crit be?

At the mo' if I had the cash I would buy a Kawasaki 636 for my stunt bike, but seeings as I'm broke i'll probably have changed my mind by the time I can afford one.

    Mid 90's GSXR750.

Lots around. Put a massive rear sprocket on it. And it's not a 'special' bike, so *I* wouldn't feel bad about crashing it. And totally ugly to begin with so if you drop it, in any fashion, you will only be improve the way it looks.

Depends what kinda stunting you want to do. Slow speed stuff in carparks and back streets n shit, or screaming along tne mtorway at 200k's doing a standup.

I'd recommend a 600 as best choice from what I've seen. As much as i hate to admit it, f4i's are the most popular bike as they're light, small, and can take a hiding. Closely followed by the 636 which has abit more torque but isn't as strong, and the rr which is as good as the f4i but obvious more expensive.
Some people like the R6 but they're alot more fragile and not recommended for a learner.
And the Sixxer ain't bad but a bit bulkier and the rear subframe is inherently weak so needs strengthening if you're gonna start doing scrapes. Plus you'll need a new oil pick up as Gixxers don't take as kindly to overfilling as the others do.

If you're keener on the high speed stuff then CBR 900, 929, 954, Gixxer 750, 1000, R1, speed triple, blah blah blah.... take your pick.

A motard's a good way to start off too.
It's just one of those days, where you don't wanna wake up,
    everything is fucked, everybody sucks,
You don't really know why but you wanna justify ripping someone's head off

dunno.. guess depends on how you go about it I guess!!

i meant more stunter.. i wouldn't be good enough to be a squid!
Just thinking of what would be a good low speed stunter to crash up.. stick a nasty cage on it so it can go down whenever..

don't know if a cheap Duc would be a good idea! but thanx for the feedback so far

Cheap 600, like an older CBR600 or early SRAD 600.

those pit bikes are trickier to get up.. jimmy makes it look way too easy it ain't fair.

and a 6 hundy is kinda what i was thinking, but some 6s would be better for parts than others.. structural as well as parts

Don't you have a couple of 600's sitting in the garage??

My cbr600 was hell easy to clutch up ... you just need to make sure the suspension is hard enough.

apparently the carbed R6's (like mine) are actually good stunt bikes but they are hard to come by in NZ... and when you compare how easy mine is to wheelie after trying it on boombers CBR i'd just about believe it too.

Parts are relatively cheap ex-ebay, but you can just take all the fairings off, put a 12-bar, cage, pre-dented tank, and some streetfighter lights on it and its good to go.
