Hey nice ride last nite guys, lots of fun all round! Be even better when i can see where im going too! Cant wait for summer!!!
Amen to this. Was Tail end charlie again, but this time had to sit at 60 kmh for a zx-1400. If you don't feel happy riding at night, please get your own confidence levels up before coming along to big ride nights as you will dick around lots of others. (We almost had search parties out for us). It was obvious that someone was way out of thier comfort zone big time.

Doesn't surprise me Gunnyrob.
Did you use the same roads as last week? How was the surface tonight?
I was off my game last week, considering I was on a road I'd never ridden before, having been up since 0300 that morning, and on a bike I'd never ridden before (an ER-6n - I normally ride an RF900 like MDU's - TOTALLY different animal) and it was one of Frosty's ones for sale to boot.
There's a number of blind crests on that road with some interesting corners immediately following - I'm not the world's best night rider due to dodgy eyes but didn't go too badly - at or slightly over the open road speed limit nearly all the way (being a good boy LOL) - and I've got to admit when you're on a bike you don't know and you end up doing a few front end slides on a downhill corner it tends to knock the old confidence a bit. I daresay a big kwakka would be a hell of a handful on that road.
I did notice a couple regulars blow past me - was that Morcs on the DRZ motard - I can't remember - and the guy on the streetfightered gixxer thou (damn I can't remember the names).
Hopefully I'll get an invite to come back again sometime. I'd love to try that road when visibility was a bit better...
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

All are welcome back, especially now we have daylight saving in our favour & all rides from now should be in light allowing better road craft.
We get a lot of stick from those who observe the ATNR from afar without actually coming on the ride.
We don't want any "cock fights". We just want to have a good social ride. As Qckchk said, we do expect people to at least keep up to a reasonable speed at night (At 60kph we do muck people around)
As tail end charlie, I have to keep an eye on people at the back, but even so, I overtook the rider in question & tried to lead him through the corners & show him good lines.
Safety is the key![]()

Hey Riffer, you stood up alright dude!! and when I was following MDU later in the night on that same ER-6n it was pretty obvious the lights weren't up to the job.. I passed MDU at one stage just to through some light on the situation, I wasn't happy following him into that mirky unknown![]()

The weather is shaping up for a great evening..........
There will be a briefing before the commencement of the ride (like usual) - all will be explained as to how this 'Adventure' option will work.
