it's all bullshit, they aren't targeting us or filling quota against us... it's just idiot riders being fuckwits who are asking for trouble that are the ones complaining about being targeted. I ride everyday, rain or shine, incorrect license, rego on hold- I don't act like a fuckwit in risky areas and consequently don't get pulled over.

    You have no idea.

These cops will cooerce you into breaking the law. there are many on here who will tell of stories such as non-descript hyundais tailgaiting riders with high beams on until the rider speeds off in annoyance. there is quite a list.

I am probably the undisputed record holder of loosing my license on this ride, and yes, i can say every incident i was being daft. but at the same time ive been around the ride long enough to see what the cops do when people arent doing stupid stuff and making it easy for them to take licenses.

There was also an unmarked tucked behind a row of trees (so you wouldnt see him till after you passed him) on one of the long straights.

Seemed like a lot of attention for what was a relatively relaxed ride. Guess the rumors of old were true eh.

last straight of peak road, on the left up a side road (gravel) that looks directly down the straight by any chance?

Have to disagree with you over that statement.
Plenty of evidence to contradict you, from a range of people.

I went on these rides a couple of years ago, heaps of bikes and not that much trouble from the pigs.

How many people get pulled over each ride on average?

None on the handful I've been on.

Yeah, the longish downhill straight with a slight hump in the middle, row of pines as a shelterbelt down the right hand side.

May be the one with the sweeping corner into one way bridge at the end.

Well if there was one thing to be hammered severely into my head tonight. It would be "Learner Rider".

    - Miss judging corner entry speeds
    - Intimidation from the wet due to recent wet weather round about incident.
    - Trying hard not to hold up other riders.
    - $100 fine for not displaying L plates.
    - $100 fine for exceeding 70km/h as per license restrictions by 24km/h
    - 35 Demerit Points.

All that aside though, the ride was still really great. Even in the wet-ish.

I never knew some of those roads even existed until tonight, and they are quite well kept too. Was good to meet a few people who enjoy riding as much as I do.

I wasn't really sure what to expect when turning up, was a little above my skill level I think. However, that just makes me want to get out and practice even more than before. Looks like I'll need to find somebody suitable to guide me in the right direction.

Before that though, I should really get off my *** and buy an L plate. Then go sit my restricted so that this doesn't happen again, heh.

Welcome aboard Newo, ATNR is probably not the best place for a learner rider, could I suggest you take a look at the NASS (North Auckland Street Skills) thread and ride.

Also the Regular Sunday ride covers a wider spread, but you will still need to be able to do open road speeds to keep up.

I actually found an L plate in my pocket the other night from someone I was coaching so your welcome to that if you want.
