    Maintenance courses in Wellington?

At one end of the spectrum, Roadsafe do a one-day basics course.
At the other end of the spectrum, Weltec apparently do a 3-YEAR small-engine course.

Anything in between those? I know the Roadsafe basics stuff, but the 3-year course is a bit too much of my life to commit to!

Buy a manual and some tools and join the 'skinned knuckles' club of mechanicing by bitter experience... ??

I can help with basic stuff (as can many others) so just ask away..

Yeah, hard knocks and skinned knuckes sounds like the go, better start saving for a socket set, torque wrench, blah blah. Pity, I once had a whole heap of tools, but gave them away when I moved up north. Boohoo!

Buy em as you need em and don't be scared of used ones.

In the meanwhile if you can get to Kapiti we can (by mutual arrangement) help you out with the minor stuff.

    Cheers

Have a look at the Weltec site, find out what course it is, then check out some of the institutions (not prisons) up there and see if the equivalent is offered....
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them
