Power Comander Info

Ok the deal is this, the Old Man has a Kawasaki VN1600 Mean streak with a power comander fitted. The power comander has never been set right since he brought the bike and not that many mechanics that he has talking to know that much about them.

The question is this can anyone recomend a someone (preferably in the Waikato area) that knows there stuf with the power comanders that can get it sorted.

Sugestions would be welcomed.

Take it across the hill to Gary Pendleton at GP Motorcycles on McDonald St, off Hewletts road, at Mount Maunganui. For about $500.00 he will custom map the PC, and make a superb job of it. It would be money well spent. Gary has done two bikes for us, with VERY good results

Like pussy said either take it to GP Honda, in Tauranga, or AMPS in auckland, and get it sorted out on the dyno, only way you are gonna get best bang for your buck

But before hand make sure you have done all the mods you are wanting to eg pipes, air filter

Cant see him making any more mods to the bike it already has a Muzzy exust system and the air filter has been changed as well. If he wants it to go any better he needs to sell it and get something that doesnt leave a trail of sparks and heat sheld on every corner.

Don't use download maps unless they've been tried by someone in NZ. US maps, for example, are often not suitable for NZ fuels.
The only sure way to set it up is by an approved Dynojet operator.

Maybe so, but it'll be damn close so if someone's been mucking with it and made a muck up of it the maps available from the power commander site will get it pretty close, and it saves having to shell out $500 odd notes to get it done from a shop.
