Good day out eh folks? Thanks to Slingshot for the organising. The pub did better with the meals this year, tho the staff were looking a bit frazzled at one point.
That must be one of the largest turnouts to a KB event - around 80 odd bikes.
Well done the guys who came down from Auckland - nice to meet you Zapf and GIJoe - good to see some Palmy boys there as well.
And it was fine and sunny when us Kapiti coasters got home![]()
I wont upload my pics at the moment, they look the same as everyone elses.
Experience......something you get just after you needed it
Excellent ride thats Sshot. The welly weather faithful were rewarded with a dry road out the back of Masters. Small incident on the hill on the way back and the rozzas were good blokes checking to see we were ok.
Good to meet new folk, shoulda made a list of people I wanted to meet. Good to see Zapf and gijoe come down from Aucks. Ta M for the amusing cellphone conversation in the MB square LOL.

Some photos from today, camera time hasn't been adjusted to DST, so add an hour to the displayed time..
Skelstar looking pretty badass next to the Ninja which fell.
That was a great ride - thanks to the organisers, and THANKS to Str8 for twisting my rubber arm this morning. Really glad I went along - and see y'all next time!
Great to get to see so many bikes in one place and to chat to some of you - that was a stellar day.
Me and my imaginary friend have been goin' round the bend for some time now....
Well done folks - an enjoyable day out. The food came out better as well considering the numbers! Big ups to the pub I reckon (well mine was OK)!! Bigger ups to the horganizer...
The trumpy and I enjoyed tootling along behind the GN's and assorted 250's, people getting started - well done you lot, all rode safely and I was well impressed and pleased to meet you all. A new record set, - you all made it!
Had a bit of fun on the way home and the solo trip going back was a teensy bit faster. Luckily I came across a super slow bus going up, passed him and voila! NO TRAFFIC... Yippee! Loverly old fashioned Triumph swoopy lines have left the pegs looking secondhand already (oops). No real rain to speak of on the way home and it made for very pleasant riding.
Fuck yeah I'm bad-ass...umm...as.
Nah, I was just wondering if I had left the iron on.

thanks to the organisers. Had a great time as a newbie.
Not sure where the bulk of people went to after lunch but we bumped into part of the novice group en route to Masterton and then ducked back on the return road the other way. Didn't see any riders though.
The VTZ wasn't really built for the speed but it hung on in there ok!
Yep cheers Sling!
Those rozzas were good blokes. The one in the passenger seat had stopped some of the guys at the back of the intermediate group earlier in the day for a very minor indiscrestion and no tickets were issued. Wished us all well and have a nice day. Bloody good of him really.
Really good ride out the back after lunch. Nice Pic's from all for you lot.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face.
Was that the only badly of the day? I take it the rider was ok?
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
we will remember them
Looked like loads of fun (tiny bit jealous) … I guess I better get my act together and get me a bike, now I kind of know what to go for. And thanks again Sean, I found it surprisingly easy to find you.![]()
