Cold Duck Rally - Riders from Auckland

Anyone want to join us in travelling from Akld to the Cold Duck and back?

Me and two others plan to leave Auckland on Friday morning and if the weather is fine take a long route to Taupo (600 or 700kms) where we will stay in a cabin at DeBretts for the night. Then across to Hawkes Bay on Saturday morning to join the Rally. On Sunday if the weather is reasonable we plan to return via the Napier to Taihape Gentle Annie. If the weather is crap on Friday or Sunday more direct routes will be taken.

Our bikes are SV1000, CB900 or S83 (undecided), and VN1600. The pace should be steady but not endanger (greatly) licence or limb.

PM me if interested or for more info.

Have a good ride Doc. It looks like the weather gods may smile upon us. Our plan is to head off Friday morning (after seeing the kids off to school) and scoot across to Whakatane then around the lakes to Rotorua then finish the day at Taupo. Taupo - Napier and Hwg 50 on Saturday morning. What are your plans for the return trip - the more the merrier? tim.

Jaffaland to Waipawa on a 250 is whats it's all about ignore the knockers. They are just jealous. Go for it. We are leaving a day earlier and going via the East cape. Who cares what others think that just what we want to do. It's an awesome rally but like most rallies the ride there and back is more memorable.

Agree with Doc totally. The rally provides the reason but it is more about the journey than the destination. The boys are starting to get excited.......
