Jorge Lorenzo is my favourite 250cc rider and should be in motogp but im really not sure that he would be teamed up with Rossi...Colin has much experience over Jorge which helps Rossi a lot with testing etc.Dont really think yamaha would put a 1st year motogp kid with mr multi world champion.

Well Lorenzo has since signed with Aprilia and will stay another year in 250's. But why not Rossi's team mate though? Nicky Hayden partnered Rossi at Honda and he was a MotoGP rookie?

Also im sure we have all heard the rumours of Casey moving to the yamaha team but Rossi felt strongly about keeping colin as they work well together and are great friends...unless Colin has actually left motogp by himself. Not saying it wouldnt be awesome to see Jorge on Rossi's team i would love it! they would be a bloody exciting team. But im just as much a Colin fan as a Jorge.

Colin may stay with the team, but seems likely he will be riding a Yamaha in World Superbike

Melandri on Ducati is an awesome idea they have been eye'n up Rossi for years so Marco is the second best man.
(would be sad to see Fortuna out of gp though)
Will be intresting to see who they team up Kenny Roberts will Also would be good to see Casey get a team member, i rection Andrea Dovizioso would be a awesome team mate very similar atitudes.

Also the rumours about Biaggi....dun dun dunn

Note i totally agree with everything you have said sAsLEX

Nakano is by far the most under rated rider. He doesnt exactly have the best bike/tyre combination either.

    This threads gonna be awesome
Yeah the b/stones seem so hot and cold.

    My 2p

Totally agree with everyone on the Nakano front -
The Kawasaki is pretty much bottom of the heap (except for Suzuki) with tyres, power, and handling; Nakano still makes it work with quick cornering and smooth, fast lines. Nice riding and 2nd at Assen, I so want to see what he can do on the Yamaha or a Honda.

Meanwhile, the Ducati is looking pretty good for next year, and if it's anything like this year's, it will be a stomper. If Rossi was ever to ride for Ducati he would blitz the MotoGP field (which would consequently make for boring viewing...)

Looks like Stoner has to pull out something special (or even finish some races ) to secure a gig next year... he and Pedrosa started so strong, but Pedrosa seems to have adjusted to MotoGP while Stoner needs to come to grips (oh the pun!) with the front-end, it seems.

Really looking forward to see how it all works out. Keep the rumours coming!
    Keep it rubber-side down...

Once upon a time there was such a thing as rider development. By the incredibly tough benchmarks set in this thread, Doohan would never have had a second, let alone a third crack at 500GP.

nakano I belive to be a unsung hero....as much as I love kawasakis...he's on a piece of shit.....and still doing some fucking fast times....
the power of the new engines are gunna make a big difference to the set up and handling of the bikes next year.....high corner speed/250/125 type riding is my guess of how they will be ridden...so it might even give the dunlop guys a good chance because of there sucess in the small classes... be interesting thats for sure!

I think de Puniet's results show how good Nakano is. It may be his first year on the main class but Nakano has much better finishing results. If Kawasaki lose Nakano now it'll be a big blow to their development.

Maybe they need a big sponsor...

Ask Mat Mladin about that. He signed a 3 year contract with Cagiva, he didnt even last the first year before his bike was given to John Kocinski. I think Stoner demanding a 2.5m salary for next year probably isnt the wisest move for a rookie.

I'll dig out the recent article where Mat Mladin says he simply wasn't good enough and deserved to be fired. He also says he is a lot happier making a living in the US than scrounging for a matress in the back of the team transporter at Cagiva.

He was signed up without even riding the bike. Agostini was quite clear that the first year was just a learning curve, but apparently Mat's attitude didnt go down too well. After Kocinski screwed up the Suzuki GP250 team and left, he became available. Cagiva took one of Mat's bikes and some his crew and promoted Kocinski. He did go rather well, and certainly pissed off both Mladin and Doug Chandler. Simon Crafer took over the RGV250 ride.

    #10 - Kenny Roberts Jr & TBA

    ILMOR
    Ilmor Suter MotoGP
    TBA - Ilmor - TBA
TBA (although most likely one rider will be Garry McCoy)

There have been reports that Sete Gibernau may be retiring, be a shame to lose him, he's still one of the fastest guys out there.
Must admit Carlos Checa joining team LCR seems a surprise. Cecchinello gained that RCV ride as HRC were desperate to sign up Casey Stoner and get him on a Honda, now that Casey has joined Ducati, it seems the team is somehow irrelevant. I'd like to see that team used as a steeping stone and promote 250 riders into the premier class. Andrea Dovizioso would be an ideal candidate for this ride. Checa somehow doesnt really fit the bill though.... He must be wondering just how he's managed to go from a two bit B Yamaha team to landing one of the better rides in the paddock!

Note also that Team Yamaha are looking for another sponser, they won't have Camel backing next year. You'd think with Rossi aboard, they'd have sponsers lining up to get on board. Be interesting to see who they get, some suggestion though that it may be backed by the factory, so entered as Team Yamaha.

Well it's now been confirmed. Tamada has been given one of the Tech 3 rides. He must not of had any other offers. as I was sure he was hoping to get back on the Bridgestones.

Will be interesting to see if he can find some confidence on the Dunlops.
Hayden - Evidence that even the mediocre can achieve great things.

Will the Honda that Nakano will now be riding be the same spec and have the same backing as the Repsol ones? In other words will he have the same bike underneath him pretty much as Hayden and Pedrosa, or is it a second rate Honda RC212V?

Even though it will probably be who you mentioned in your post, I am impatient for Kawasaki to hurry up and announce their riders for next year. I can at least guess the paint job though.
