I prefer a reliable waterproof weapon thanks. Last time I stripped a Mossberg, I stripped the ejector retaining screw. Then I made coffee with the water that poured out of the mag.Originally Posted by awesker

Im not a fan of Mossbergs. Heard and seen too many bad things. And like Jim said, you need to be concious of what you do and where you take them. If you want a good all rounder, go for the Ithaca Mac 10

Gotta a cheapy 8-shot pump-action with sights, reliable as the dawn and shoots a 4" group with slugs at 50 yards, ideal defence weapon for anything under 75 or so yards imho.

Gotta a cheapy 8-shot pump-action with sights, reliable as the dawn and shoots a 4" group with slugs at 50 yards, ideal defence weapon for anything under 75 or so yards imho.
i run a Mossberg 5500 semi auto with an 18 3/4" barrel, 5 round mag extender, pistol grip and flashlight mount back home. normal load is 3" 00 Magnum Hi-Brass home cooked plastic shells..
stay with what ya know i guess.. never had an issue with the Mossbergs personally.. im a pedantic bastard on my cleaning though..
