Now Now Now, this isn't an FAQ like on the Bike Stuff thread,

BUT do any of you learned bikers know the correct symbol for

    a hermaphrodyte creature ?

    I haven't a clue. There might be one...it's interesting.

Is there a symbol in biology? .....

for creatures like snails which are both sexes, and certain
fish, and frogs (?) like those desert ones in Africa are able to change into either sex according to the rains and their population.
And crocodiles can become one sex or t'other according to the ground temperature when they're in the egg.

    Been watching Discovery Channel, hai

Makes a change from what oil?

Maybe I should add all these options
Mars: symbol for males. Venus: symbol for females.
    Gay males. Lesbians.
Aware of the joint cause of gays and lesbians. Also (sometimes) transsexuals. Also, (sometimes) heterosexuals in general. See here or here. Bisexuals. Sometimes used for people fighting for gay and lesbian rights.
Transgender. See here. Another symbol for transgender: see here
Bisexuals. Bisexuals, as proposed here. Closely related in some places to the symbol for bisexual men
    Bisexual men. Bisexual women.
    Mercury: Hermaphrodites. See here.

    Wow - I didn't know all those existed -
so we learn something new every day, Spank Me......

My whole point has been that gender signifyers are entirely
inappropriate on a motorcyclist's website, and given the huge range required for accuracy and inclusiveness, also quite unnecessary.

    Bend Over !!!!!!!

well, darned if I can make my stupid girlie thingy deleted.

I've tried to remove it several times, and even read and
    followed the edit instructions,
    but it's still there.......

So I tried to change it to a stupid boy-ie thingy instead,
    following SP Man's lead.
(He changed his boy thingey to a girl thingey
and frightened everyone !!!!!) Now his is gone entirely.

But no, mine won't change ........ and
    It won't go away......

AND my bike's in for servicing AND I can't ride anywhere this
    weekend AND ......

Everything is always okay in the end.
If it's not, then it's not The End.

    Blah

The little signifiers are great - however, I need to keep going back to my name in order to remember which one is the one for a man and which is the one for a woman.  Thanks incredibly for the wonderful administrator who made this that much more difficult by getting them around the wrong way to start with.......that made my job all the more difficult....

Anywho - does it really matter whether these are on or not - I also question the legality under the Privacy Act and Human Rights Bill as to the displaying of the sex of a member without them having the option to turn it on or off.  (this is a piss take before anyone flames me - however it is a valid point should someone wish to take it up with the Human Rights Ombudsman)...

Can I have a little symbol in the shape of a bike instead of the male/female notations?

Conversely - can we make it simplier by having Guy/Girl for those of us who are 'symbolically' challenged?

Good we use the DNA make-up as symbols instead?

How about pictures of the members instead of their bikes?

Just my thoughts - shit I need a job!

hahaha its too true and i only get 4 hours sleep a night because of it :P haha no, most nights i get 6hours.

anyways you wanna know what irritates me like a fly on a dogs ass... SPman and his constantly changing bikes names/signatures etc :P i enjoy reading them but what irritates me about it is that i might have missed some funny ones coz he changes them too bloody often! :P

anyways ive spent the last hourt after my 2nd job studying RVF400's on the net, and stuff what the dude @ mt eden motorcycles on his VFR NC30 reckons, my RVF NC35 will give me just as much Fun if not more smaller carbs, 2HP loss, but 5kg lighter... so much to consider.. and ive learnt how to derestrict it the speedo gets to 180 and hits a mteal sensor which shuts down hte engine.. haha how basic... or i could pay like $100NZ just to buy a black box to bypass that single little thing.. or not :P   cyas all, sleep time, up @ 6am to do some concreteing on uncles section gotta love that concrete!

VFR/RVF's are neat, Motors like swiss watches. They last OK too - mate in Wellington got over 100K on his NC21

I'd rather have the symbols than "pink for girls" and "blue for boys". Sigh.

Sorry will not be voting on this one. You should be able to choose wether you have a symbol or not. Personally if someone has a problem with you because of your sex or sexuality that is their problem. Don't make it yours by stressing about it as it only lowers you down to their level.

I value what people say on this site by what they say not by their sex. I recommend that we all do the same (that applies to all the sexs).

I never filled out that bit in the profile Because I just don't think it matters.
I read every thing on the site, the gender of the writer makes no difference.
What does get up my nose is when you fill out a form for some reason an they want to know what race you are. There seldom seems to be a place for New Zealander.I like to tell them I'm part Maori Then tell Them I'm also part Irish,And French, and English, and Fijian,And 100%kiwi.Bugger em' let em' make it up as they go,I think that's what they would prefer.
One day New Zealanders will get recognised as a race that has nothing to do with were our ancesters came from.
    Anyway me
