    Good pub for meet ups?

Well now comfirmed that I will be headed down to Christchursh for a few days so wondering if anybody keen for a meet up/ride? Dates not confirmed yet but hoping for around the first weekend in September so if peaple a bit farther south ( Scumdog, Virago, Jantar...) can't get up then let me know now if you're keen so I can work things out.

Also what are the conditions of the roads down that way around that time of year? Will have have to worry about much ice?

    Few days when?

Seems Balfast is the common meeting ground, although rather not be forced to drink Harringtons again. Had a damn "red wine headache" yesterday.

Hear there is a new place opening up down by Northwood. One of my Collegues(sp?) neighbours owns it.

As per PM, it may not suit for me. I'm in Ch-ch on Friday 15 and Friday 22 September for seminars. Making it three weeks in a row could be a problem, especially as Mrs V has kindly reminded me that it's our youngest daughter's birthday that weekend..........

Hmm May be able to change it to the 15th. REally should give my boss and co-workers more than a few weeks warning for me disapearing for a week lol.

But depends on Sniper, if he is cool with that day aswell and I just remember I havn't asked him if I could stay at his place for more than one night lol.

IDB I didn't mention you cause I didn't know you were down there and hardly ever have any interaction with you on the site. Welcome to come though.

here's already quite a bit happening down south in September. Have a look at http://chatto-creek-mcc.tripod.com/id3.html for ones that I know of.

If I can make it at all it would only be the first weekend, depending on my roster.

Was thinking about the Pissed Penguin but me wanting to be in Auckland by the 30th has put that out of range. Don't want to be over tired froim being on the bike for 4 days while at a metal concert.

Firstly the ice - if there's a frost in the morning then you take care till its gone - at that time of year it is getting warmer and the frosts lighter and generally they're gone much earlier. If there's been a clear night and a light frost then just be prepared when you come into dark bits of road that don't see the sun till late.
You're not going to come all the way down from Papamoa and then just stop in ChCh are you?? Apart from the POrt hills its the most boring place to ride a road bike. If you want to meet some of the Southern members then get on your bike and head South.

I only put it up for a short time to celebrate my promotion to Forum Whore. That's now past its use by date, so I've reverted to the Re5 avatar that I normally use.

I take it that you liked the dancing girl?
