    Looking for class information

Hi there all, i have abit of a newbie racing question.
I was considering maybe getting into racing, nothing to serious, problery setup my 94cbr600 for the track to start with. Its fairly stock apart from an arrow race can, and K&N airfilter. I have plenty of road experiance, but only done a couple of track days, though i really enjoyed them. I would still rate my day at july28 taupo motott track day as "best day of my life" even now that ive finally calmed down over it.

The question i have is, what class`s could i enter?

I have noticed people speak of clubmans as an "all in" type class, that one sounds about right? but how does the f3, f2, f1? sbk supersport600? fit in? could i also race in one of those classes?

Any link or explanation would be helpful thanks

Start in clubmans, then when you get the feel for the racing thing, migrate to supersport/F2 and they will also let you in F1 as well. There will be plenty of others about your pace in all those classes. Once your out of clubmans you can cross enter in both F1 and F2/supersport at no extra charge for the taupo club and only $10 to cover the extra transponder class for the vic club actrix series, not sure about the AK club.

I was at the July MotoTT track day as well, I was the one on the two green number 73 Kawasakis....

Go for it, you will have a blast

    Supersport 600 is F2
Superbike is F1 in New Zealand anyway.

You could race in either of these classes with your bike, F2 allows upto 600cc fours, 675cc triples (much to nickos delight) and 750cc twins.
F1 is basiclly anything upto 1000cc although some clubs make exceptions based on the bike in question.
F3 is 250cc twin cylinder two strokes, 450cc four cylinder four strokes, 650 (700)cc twin cylinder four strokes, F3 is a pretty cheap class to go racing in, but very competitive at the same time, feilds are pretty big and there's generally someone to kick it with.

Clubmans, you can enter on any type of bike and generally has a cut off, say if you run faster than 1.18 round manfield short track you are no longer allowed to race in clubamans and have to race in your respectful class for your bike, F2 or F1 in your case, you could enter F2 and F1 and get twice the racing, however you can't cross enter classes if you race in clubmans.

First things first you'll need to join a Club (if you're not already) fire off SVS a pm or check out www.vicclub.co.nz $35.00 for a years membership, then sus out getting your race licence, there's a race meet at Taupo in October, i'd suggest get yourself sorted and get out in clubmans at this meet, it's very well orgainsed and run, and you'll have a bloody good day and meet some pretty cool people. If you find yourself giving the learn to everyone in race one in clubmans make the step up into F2 for the next race.
