Team Poos' racing...muppets in space...race report!

time for another race report from team Poo's racing [an affiliated member of muppet racing inc]

well spent the week before fart arsing around getting the bike ready...put slicks on the bike [been running racetech's till now]...sent forks away for some more revalving and firmer springs [thanks robert taylor at northwest suspension] only got them back on friday....and a few other niggly problems...so was all good to go...load the bike's on to the trailer on friday....car all packed....good to go on saturday morning...

got up at 4:30am...on the road by 5:10am...was making good time to get to the track at 6:45...pulled in and thank godness mikey had scored us pits and piston broke racing pits....coz they were all priddy much full...

unloaded bikes set the gixxer on the stands with the warmers on...etc...all set to go...fucked around trying to get rossi gals side stand off [argh!!!! what a cunt of a job....looks simple though!]

I chucked my leathers on before riders briefing so I could get straight out in the tyre scrub in session...to get a feel for these slicks and new suspension settings up front...and scince I hadn't ridin the bike for a month scince last round had to get the feel for everything again and my perception of speed back again...

so out in the scrub session I shot out first so I could get a few clear laps scrubing the tyres in and remebering the braking markers,etc...on the third lap I opened her up and piled on the speed....did one clear and fast lap ....coming around again I came up to 5 other bikes at the end of the front straighttook 4 under brakes and almost the fifth but rossi gal shut the door on me...so I just adjusted my line and went around her coming out of the hairpin...and gunned it hard right to the turn in point of the right hander...turned in and a few seconds after my knee touched down I felt the front lift [it was the suspension] and then blam!!!!! on the deck...some how I was thinking save the bike...and was holding it up with my arms as me and the bike were both sliding....then the bike hit the grass...and just flew out of my hands and went somersaulting through the infeild....disintergrating!!! and I had a lil tumble on the grass too...so I basically got up and swore lots!!

and blah blah blah...trailored back in [my speedo landed 20 metres from me and the bike...lol] was ho hum about it all to start with....its my first track bin...but after watching superbike qualifying I was pissed with my self and chomping at the bit to get out there...fuck it all...but hey...these things happen...I survived and learned!!!

the damage....well....lots to the bike...I've got some aches and pains to day and a graze in my arm from the leathers and armour waering through from trying to hold the bike up...so I'm sweet....jimbo has a few pics and so does racey rider to post...

so I flew the flag for team muppet [as an affiliate] this weekend...and proud to do so!!

so after all that...and watching and supporting the other racers.....went home and sulked...drank lots of beer....ate choc ice cream and watched alley Mcbeal re-runs on DVD....

I must say a big thanks too...dave anderson motorcycles and T&V motorcycles...motostyle acc's...tony from darbi's in welli..robert taylor from northwest suspension..team mate rossi gal...speedie [team Poo's manager and cheif pit support mechanic] for ya support and encouragment...we miss ya in the pits big time this weekend bro!! chancy [official team Poo's coffee biatch!!]
and the whole KB crew for ya support...amd a special thanks to KBer Poorbastard [that dude deserves rep from everyone] for helping me acctually get to the track yesterday by relief milking for me when my normal relief milker pulled out!!! thanks heaps dude!! and for swantigher [aka: swanny] for offering to ride down from auckland to milk if I needed him...give that man bling too everyone.... Thanks!

Please contact me for a replacement bike, I have many available that would suit you. As for slicks , well you know know, that you need to get them up to temp , and most of us Nanas cant get em hot enough , ,,try a good set of road tyres !!!

The first pic is of the bike I had in Mind, the second it an action shot of leaving of the track, the third is of the tyre I had in mind , the treads would move around under power heating up the carcus...

Ps , well done, even though it went pear shaped

Mate it sure was a day of highs & lows .. but yeah agree with Sugi, even though we all knew you were gutted you acted like a true pro about it .. mental attitude is so important .. & you had that in spades .. my hat off to you

& thanks for the "official title "

Mikey to you too .. gutting at binning the bike but your attitude spoke volumes too .. you will go far.. hope your not to sore today mate

the highs was the other KB members who shined, Sugi, Aria, Deno Kingzeb (esp after the bin, then to win) & to those I have not yet met ... good on ya .. was a great days racing esp since the weather held
Have to Karma ... Justice catches up eventually !!

    So who's milking your cows?

RD1 might be interested in a sponsorship deal...
