Because if this is all they require in terms of physical fitness, I think even a fat middle aged git like me should be able to make good my escape.

Pretty sure its all got to be completed within a certain time frame. It aint that easy....
Dont see the big deal here. Popo should be in decent condition, but they dont have to be uber fit like the Army or even Fire service.
Apart from all that they have radios and support. and knowing my luck I would get the one that coaches athletics or runs marathons for a hobby.![]()
I've done that Police course years ago and believe me it's not easy. I was 30 something and fit but it knocked the stuffing out of me. I remember a 20 something mate, who was also fit, gave up before the final obstacle. We had 65 people trying for a dragon boat team and we hired the Police training gym for eliminations. Sure did cull the flabbies out.
That 75kg stuffed dummy looked easy. So I ran full tit passed it, thinking I could just reach down, grab hold and carry on at full speed!. How wrong I was. Bloody near flipped me on my back like I'd struck a brick wall. A dead weight is incredibly hard to move, all floppy and loose.
It was fun to do. Most of the obstacles you had to push and carry, at first glance look not too hard based on the weight. But it's the overcoming inertia and the difficult shapes that made it harder and tiring. It was a fair test because that aspect challenged light weights like me at 76kg and favoured the heavy set, but the tables turned at the runs, jumps and climbs. Many failed to get over the last wall because you had to jump up quite high to get your hand on the top, then pull you body up and over and by then you were worn out, so stamina came in to play.

Did you have to do it wearing the stab-proof vest as well? I got to try one of those on once and fuck me, it was heavy. A copper I spoke to once said the reason they can walk about in the middle of winter (here in Auckland anyway) in just a shortsleeved shirt and a vest was because the bulk of the vest keeps them nice and toasty.
You want some advice - lightning strikes once, it does not strike twice!
