Supply problems with Aprilia parts are not unusual because of their financial history. Often they have to lay the entire workforce off for 3 or 4 months at a time to stay afloat and all sorts of production schedules are affected.
Doesn't surprise me at all, though you may have better luck trying to get the parts ex-Japan through Brian d'marge (sorry Stephen - I know you'll try to help though).
