    Today

Since it was such a good day , I managed to wangle a another days annual leave, So Motoracer, Myself and my buddy from the local bike shop, did a bit of a run down to Waihi. .

We meet the normally late Sudeep at Autobahn papakura, (on time no less), fueled up and away. Motorway to Drury, Old GSR to ramarama, over the hill to Arariumu, old Hunua rd, SHw 2 down to Miranda, blah blah blah Kopu, more gas over the hill. to Whangamata turn off, nice blat over the hill, down the back way to Waihi, got out voted so we had Kentucky fried pukekeo, or some shit they were passing off as chicken, then turned round and back the way we came, weather was great only rain we saw was miles away from where we were, spilt up at Miranda,, my buddy and his pillon, went straight back, MR and I decided to drag the day out a bit, and did Hunua, Arariumu, ramarama and up the back way to pukekohe,,..

Yep another great day, thanks for you co guys.

Today I went for a bit of a ride too. I rode up to Waikanae just up SH 1 but then rode back over the Akatarawa Rd.

I stopped in Waikanae at this groovy little cafe called the Reikorangi Pottery & Cafe on Ngatiawa Rd, it's signed posted how to get there. It has chooks & roosters (unfortunately), peacocks and lotsa other bird life and it was lovely just sitting there in the sun...sorry guys & gals I didn't have a coffee but the Earl Grey tea was lovely & came out in a very cute pottery tea pot & the blueberry muffin was yum! They also do more substantial food as well and if you really want to, a little farmlet you can walk around (for a fee). It was so nice just sitting in the sun, I think my friend and I could have quite happily sat there all day.

Going up and coming back were soooooo cold though! Coming back through the Akatarawa Rd was quite dark in places & I met a lot of traffic going the other way, being on my bike I could just keep on keeping on but I dunno what you'd do in a car, swerve & pray I guess! Nice ride though but man I need some of that silk stuff that Lynda keeps flashing about!

    Great day!

I didn't go for a ride as my poor beaten up fizzer is still stuck in the back of the workshop at WMC

Still, mangell6 came over for a cuppa and a hello, and I watched my boy play rugby from the sidelines instead of refereeing as my ankle is still a bit sore.

Sent a few emails to some bike fixers re straightening my forks, and my father-in-law has offered me the loan of his bike (a 1982 Honda CB900 Bol D'or) so as soon as I can organise some insurance on it I will be back on the road - wahoo!!!!!

    Oh, and the AB's won.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

The wife and I had some business to attend to in Tauranga so we headed off about 9:30, she in the car and me on the XJR. Because we had to be in Tga by 12:00 we stuck to the main drag all the way so didn't see any of you guys, in fact hardly any bikes on the road at all. Passed through Waihi about 11:00 but didn't stop. Brilliant weather although a bit cool - for some reason my right thumb felt like it had frostbite even though I was wearing thick winter gloves. Went to Bay Ride in Tga and bought some cosy glove liners although I didn't need them on the way back as it was a lot warmer. Altogether a pleasant and relaxing ride only spoiled by the huge number of slow cars, campervans and trucks which wouldn't have held me up much but did cause some problems for my wife who for some reason doesn't like overtaking on corners...

well i had an extended commute on the lil FXR. A bit of fun tossing it around the side roads on the way home. Bloody frozen fingers though
Just the stress relief I needed after a shitty day watching bikers ride past

Yeah well I had driven over there myself a while back & I had completely forgetton what it was like. Still being scared shitless of going too fast whilst cornering, I took it pretty slow but I was thinking that more experienced riders would love it.

You should have stopped in and helped me try and fix my bike. I spent all day in the garage just off SH1

Man that road ROCKS on a bike.....in winter tends to stay wet and icy tho.....and is a tad susceptible to fuck off big 4WD's and slips....

i got all the way thru to upper hutt - managed to drop the trailer over the edge a couple of times, then remembered i had left the trailer spare tyre in my garage....that's not to mention towing it over 10kms of road works on desert rd. needless to say i didn't mention that oversight to anyone
