HOLY FUCK, NOW I'M ANGRY![]()
I just watched some self righteous "female" activist on tv, gleaming over how she took a men's only barber shop to court to force them to cut women's hair, no doubt at the attractive men's rate. That owner, who opened the shop as a mens only barber shop, is now forced under the human rights act (according to the courts) to accept "women". Even though it is completely irrelevant, it's quite obvious "she" doesn't class "herself" as a "woman"![]()
So what you say, who gives a shit? Or maybe you think that's fair and just? There WAS a time when I might have thought along those lines, or more likely not given a flying fuck either way. What then, do you think of this:
Contours - "Where "woman" find strength"![]()
A "woman"'s only club, where the owners started it up for "women" clientele only. How is that different? How the fucking hell is that different? Ok, so IF it were fair, all those super fat fugly "women" need a place to work out where all those icky men don't look at them exercising. Or maybe it's also that all those team switchers want a more condensed viewing environment? Then there's the group of "women" who think they are the fucking shiznit, and would be humiliating themselves by being anywhere where normal, common people are... Do you want to know where all the woman who want to exercise go? To normal bloody gyms. There's tens of thousands of woman who use normal gyms without ever being abducted by nasty dirty men. Do you want to know why? Because woman who are there to exercise, don't fuck around by standing around chatting over how men are barstards and how nice their little "exclusive" club is.
But oh heavenly fuck, smite any man who dare's think he can run a business how he see's fit. Not that I give a shit where the fuck I exercise (at Les Mills), or have my hair cut (at a unisex hair salon), I just find the blatantly obvious double standard rather pathetic.
Is it that only "women" are self conscious? Are "women" the only gender who have the right to choose whether they associate with society or in their discriminatory, double-standards clubs? Do men never want to go somewhere where they (and the business owner) choose to keep exclusive for men? Do fat, fugly men working out feel any different to fat, fugly women? Do men who bat for the other side not have the right to be somewhere they have a condensed viewing environment (NOT that that's the case or even relevant, but it ties back into my first couple of paragraphs).
Ok, so if "women" have the right to run exclusive clubs, then so do men. If "women" don't want to be around the opposite sex and have the right to enforce that, then so do men. Why stop there? If "women's" rights are to enforce that prejudice, then is it different if white people feel honestly uncomfortable in an environment condensed with black people? (white and black distinctions used as a general reference, any & every color/race/creed is implied). So then getting a White's only, Male only club going won't cause offence? What is the difference? What is REALLY the difference? (Don't just think or reply some general statements like "because that's just wrong").
One day (when I'm bored with life, i.e. someday soon) I might go join Contours, and take offence to being turned away, after having my human rights transgressed.
