    Kiwibiker site etiquette

    Hi all,

Just a little rant. I love bikes. I've been a member here for 2 or 3 years sometimes signing in daily, sometimes signing in monthly. I've also met some great people and done some great rides!

After an absence of a month or so, I check my rep only to see repeated bad rep from one single member. Now I obviously wound him up in some way or another, but after 5months wouldn't you just let it go?

Thoughts please, I'll check them next month.

    Till then

    Mattt

ps - see attached rep chart.

Have come accross another site that has dropped Rep altogether ..
I'm sure if Spankme had support he'd consider it here too

Well, out in the open is one way to approach it Mattt...I know sometimes it's the only way! Feel for ya, had it done to me by at least 3 members before.

Site Admin needs to sort this out!

My question is why have you not spoken to a Mod about it? We cant help you if you dont talk to us because we dont know.

However I can see why you posted it here.

I have a sneaky suspicion i know which site you mean Warren, and i think it's great to start off with a clean slate, all having an equal reputation, that is, none...but to take it away from KB now that this site has evolved so much would be silly. I do believe the majority of frequent posters enjoy the rep system we have here...I may be wrong though?

    Try another tack!

Find that really surprising, sure there is not another side to it that you have conveniently left out?
Not accusing just asking, it doesn't add up to the impression I have gained since I have been on here.
Maybe you just catch him on night shift all the time.
Try sorting it out "with" him, send him a PM, you might end up friends. Cheers John.

I'm new to the site but I've found the rep system a good way of showing my appreciation of an opinion/support in an argument/gratitude for a bit of good advice and I've been surpeised at the amount of positive rep I've received - I've never yet given red rep and I don't see that I'll feel the need - I think it's a last resort for people who aren't getting 'it' at home and are incapable of winning arguments with words and logic.

The green rep promotes the feeling of cameraderie and unity that should be bikers - even us ghey blokes on Hondas!

Maybe some big posters, I mean posers crave that, not all though.

I have over 19 500 posts on a MTB website (mostly crap, even though I had to behave a bit more when I was a mod on there! ) and dont care a jot for any "rep" score, you cant please everyone, and its only the interweb after all!
