Yeah it gives me the shits how they do it outside ruapuna, they should go back to bloody mcleans island where they arn't bothering the residants outside the racetrack and giving the racetrack a bad name.

And how about the plane noise? There are planes going across all the time and making lots of noise, are they gonna complaign about that too?

Shouldn't she have measured the levels at or in the houses before spouting off that the level at the track is too high ?

I wonder what the dumb shits are thinking when they buy a house near by racetrack!

I would be intersted to see what the SI guys think about this. are the people in the homes just being anal bastards, Or do they have a fair point?

Here here. I completely agree but Deano (below) also has a good point.

I can see the residents point. (if this is the case)
In this case there needs to be consultation with the residence before the hours/days/noise are increased. I dont think you loose existing track rights you are just in a weak position if somebody does start whineing. The point of the RMA is that you minimise your impacts. If the raceway wants to extend hours/days/noise then do something to lessen the impact on the neighbours i.e. as Brian d'marge said (below). Transit etc are required to do it with new motorways (now didnt use to have to) and have performace standards to meet.

They use design to stop sound of motorways reaching residential areas here in Japan ,,,and its very effective

and as for the rubbish , I am sure that some of those ,,,dropkicks who cause it would be on community service ...get the buggers out there to pick the stuff up ,,,, and not over 2000000000 weekends, no make the little S$%^&* work 2 km per day cleared and spick and span including grass cutting etc ...

As for the little fu@{er boy racers I'd love to be at the wheel of the artic with a snow blade on the front. Seriously though - I agree if they litter make the shit heads pick it up. Stop wasting time and money on the youth court/family conferance (or whatever it is called) system and slap them with community service. Same applies to the damage they do to the roads - make them pay for it cause it aint cheap to repair.

    I second that
this annoys me somewhat, it depends if they were informed about opening up the track. If they had no say and it just happened they may have a point, but still its like building a house in the antarctic and complaining that its cold!!!!

and for the people that have moved there since the track usage was opened up, and are complaigning they (in my opinion) have no grounds for complaint, as they knew what was hapening but moved there anyway

If it makes you feel any better, the UKs going the same way. More and more trackdays are now running quiet days so as not to upset the people who bought a house nearby knowing full well that there was a race track next door. "DOH! We didn't think it'd be noisy..."

As has been said waaay above in this thread, many of the residents have a valid point. The track usage increased dramaticaly without consultation. Hopefully the new track in the quarry will go ahead and this will all be a moot point. I wonder though whether some members of the Car Club are ignoring the guide lines/ rules for track usage... read on

At a race meeting a month or two ago, the track was booked until 5pm. There is a sign saying "No entry to the track before 9am", and I believe there are rules about track usage after 5pm. The racing finished up at about 4:30, and the next thing two openwheel racecars start heading out onto the track. Somebody quite rightly stopped them and told them "we hired the track till 5pm- do you think a bunch of bikes would be allowed free track access after a car meeting?!?!" Meanwhile the second car ran up the back of the first car and coolant started spilling everywhere.... was quite amusing- we should have let the silly bugger go out and cook his engine, as it was he wouldn't give up trying to go out until about 5 people started shouting and pointing. So they pushed the thing back into a building, and sometime after 5 both cars went out and started doing laps. No doubt Motorcycling Canterbury would have taken the blame if it was infact against the rules to be on the track after 5pm.

They have a point for some of the easily controlled points (see the post by Tony B above)

But mostly they are the same type of twats that would buy a house by a riverbank because of the nice view - then moan to 'somebody' when the river flooded them out.

That sucks If The Canterbury MC club had to take the blame for that.

Maybe someone need to police the race track, or invest in some gates with locks to stop such retards gonig out like they own the show.

Could they acctually be done for tresspassing? As they did not hire the track, So had no right being out there?

Erm- they would be members of the Canterbury Car Club who own the track. The point I was trying to make is that if there is actually a ban on use of the track after 5pm then they are not obeying this rule.

It's just you. The website appears more speedway orientated, though it does some ask valid questions at the bottom of the page.
