I saw him (Hubbard) on the news. What a fucken idiot!! I had some respect for him prior to this (not having to live in Auckland) but what little I had is gone now. I don't care who is parading for what reason. The council's of this country need to understand that they are not in the beehive. They are there to serve their local communities. To do this they have set of bylaws. If their representitives operate, as in this case, by those rules then the council hasn't got a leg to stand on. It's no wonder that Auckland can't seem to get it's shit together.

Compare the attitude of the council toward this parade (which I personally think is a bit tacky and juvenile), with it's predecessors attitude to the Hero Parade (which I personally think was very tacky and very juvenile).

You may be right to some extent idb but the message I got from Dick's diatribe was that he was opposed to it because it was promoting the porn industry, not because it was promoting commerce.
