If I need to practice starts on the 10, I'll be there (will know after 23rd sep actrix round) I'll only be doing the standing though, I've only let rip twice on the 10 now and it was pulling wheelies in top in dips and what have you that were barely perceptible to the eye, so not really keen on doing flying runs unless it is held on a billiard table smooth road.

Haven't done one myself, but you start a fair way down the road, and most bikes should be tapped out when you cross the line. A quarter of a mile later you go through the second timing gate and you speed is calculated from that.

Ohh...it pays to have all the bikes cylinders firing at the second timing gate if you want a good time/speed (eh Slingshot ).

    Yeah...that helps...but I still managed 211.45 Km/h on three cyclinders.

Basically, you start the run from a Km or so back...hold the throttle wide open and hope

Okay - I have updated the front page with a couple more bits of information.

All enquiries regarding minimum protective gear should be directed to Garry Allbrett - 06 379 8081

Up to 20 marshalls are desired, in order to have a few extras for relieving also. We would be grateful for any names and contact numbers of people able to assist with marshalling.

Marshalls would be required to be on site at 8.00am on each day of the sprints.

Please indicate if you are able to assist with marshalling by listing your name and contact phone number here. Would any of your friends or family be able to assist ?

We need your support to make this event happen.

Checked the road out last weekend - it's flat and smooth with no bumps of concern. No cowshit whatsoever.

A lot of power poles, and the road is narrower than East West Access Road - just don't run off the road.

East West Access road still has Macrocarpa trees and the standard wire strainer fence so hit that at 250+ kph and ....well, ask yourself.

Skelstar, Limbimtimwim, Mikey and I went to the meeting on Monday night - The direction is proposed to be West to East, starting at the rise at the west end.

Mikey and Mrs Deano are going to marshall - who else ? Jim2 ?

Do you people want to support this event or what ? Or are you all going to enter rather than marshall ?

I will be marshalling or taking video footage.

    Come on......step up !!

Im keen to enter but fail to see the point (although having a time would be nice).

I wouldnt mind doing a simple marshelling or other job. (im fairly good with both still cameras and movie cameras if someone has one to lend me)

If you think it would be fun, then enter.

Otherwise PM me with your full name and contact number (cell preferably) and I will forward your name to the organisers as a marshall.
