Any chance there can be more timing sheets in the coming event? I did it last year on the ol' SPADA and I didn't even make the time sheetWorked out I got 160 (real) k's out of it though. Not bad for a 250 twin I think.
Will go faster in November I tell ya. I'll be there in force on something bigger.
The "Big Balled Midget" - Cheers CLS
What fun.
Those of you NOT there, BAD BAD BAD BAD BAD.
Big thanks to those KBers who marshalled. That would be:
UNCLE_B
Dafe
Skelstar
Dreamer
Pex Adams
phoenixgtr (Added later thanks Mr Wasp)
Sorry if I missed anyone
and
Deano
For getting suppliers on board supplying some prizes!
Oh yeah, I did my flying 400m in 5.6 seconds, which is 71.428571429 meters per second or 257.142857 km/h.

As LBTM said thanks Guys. Fun day, big turnout. Knackered. Was a long way home for that cold beer but it sure tasted nice.
Deano will be able to quote the fact sheet later. For me I got the 636 flying at 161mph or 260.something kph so I'm happy enough with that.
Road rocket got the better of me in the standings by a whisker.
Taking home some prizes caps off a good day out.
Happiness is a means of travel, not a destination
Thanks to all the organisers for giving us such a great day, It was very much appreciated.
I suggest if you haven't done this before that you come over in November. It was my first time and I am still grinning
Well I was clocked as the fastest 600 thereStill waiting on conformation of the speed though.
It was great to see a good croud there with everyone contributing to a fanTAZtic atmosphere.
Thanks to you all
Taz
A big Thank you to Marty at typeface for sponsoring me to have a go in my first race
Thanks to Steven at kittyosheas for building the computer program we're using at the sprints and the Hill Climb.
Contact Troy at actioncamz for DVD quality on board video
Same from me , thanks to the Marshalls for making it happen and thanks for the prizes. Couldn't quite match the inline 4's in the 650cc-750cc class so cheers for the "fastest 750 vtwin prize"![]()
Got my best time yet of 5.75 or 251 kmh !
Pitty my oil sensor decided to shit it's self, had quite a bit of oil on the back wheel when I arrived home.![]()
It's not a beer pot.... It's a fuel tank for a sex machine
Trip of a life time http://www.buenosaires-caracas.com.ar/tours.html
Trip details here
I sure do feel nackered considering I spent most of the day riding in short straight lines. Thoroughly enjoyed my first time and was impressed by the organisation of the day (well done team) and the choice of new location. The road is pretty shitty at the beginning, but the section we sprinted on was excellent. No incidents, except something I heard about a 300km/h tankslapper (those gixxers are shite!). Time for an oil-change & valve clearances before the end of November me thinks. The ride home over the Taka's was memorable too, it felt like a hurricane had hit Featherston after enjoying the calm Carterton weather all day.
By the way, I won fastest 1100 for the flying, I think there was 2 there with the other being a shite gixxer.
Yeap - as has been said by LBTW a VERY big thank you to all the Marshalls (lbtw forgot phoenixgtr), organisers and sponsors!
My fastest flying 1/4 was 8.19 seconds which is an average speed of 176km/h.
I'd also like to thank (in no particualar order):
Slingshot - for helping me clean the carbs out on friday night
TSS motorcycles - for tensioning the chain once again for free
Stew from TSS - for picking me up off the floor after he told me the price of new spark plugs(well worth it though)
1990 Suzuki Bandit GSF 250 for sale 39k kms $3,500

Well done Mooch. I bet you are stoked mate!!
I was soooo keen on getting there and then meeting the classic club guys coming back fom their marathon. I stayed up to midnight getting the TR6C ready to trundle over but... The illness I'd been pretending didn't exist got the better of me this morning and I felt like shit. (Insert long story here)
What is it about this event? I'm fated to never get to one?
Still, enough whining from me....
Welcome to the oil leaky classic bike club :-)
Big thank you to Cliffhanger Promotions and all involved in running this great event. I am sure those who Marshalled would rather have been riding so thanks for making the sacrifice guys. I think the new road overall is a better venue on the whole than the "old" one - better parking (ie sealed side roads) and being able to use the nearby facilities in the Hall/School grounds is a bonus.
pretentious moi?
Am very pleased i dragged my ass out of bed this morning!
Didnt get ANY of my times, but did manage to tap the thou out on the flying 1/4.
Would be very interested to see some times when they get put up.
So who got pics/vids?
Had a ball in the wheelie session too!
Big thumbs up to all who made this event possible.
Motorcycing is not a hobby, It is a way of life!
Missed forever! NEVER FORGOTTEN!!
LIVE ON MY FRIENDS!
Friends dont let friends ride Hyosungs
Thanks to Cliffhanger Promotions for putting on an excellent event![]()
Thanks to Deano for helping drive this event to what seemed like the largest entrant numbers I can remember.
It was great to see riders winding up their bikes on the flying. From the top you could hear the louder bikes giving it snot all the way.![]()
Cheers to the stunt guys who put on the wheelie display.![]()
For me, rider of the day was the guy on the GN250. Consistant wheelies at the standing![]()
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy
Cheers for the positive feedback guys. Glad everyone enjoyed themselves. There were a few hiccups, mostly the certificates which were partly written up, but then in the excitement, individuals fastest times and speeds were not filled in, in time to hand out. Something to improve upon for November. I will suggest that the Wgtn and Hutt certificates get sent to me asap and can be collected from my place, or my work. Will let you all know soon.
Thanks to everyone who supported this event by entering, marshalling, sizzling sausages (Mrs Deano etc) and to the guys who helped with sponsorship, and of course the sponsors themselves. It was great to be able to give a prize to nearly everyone who entered.
I'm glad the new venue was acceptable - perhaps not as good as E-W Access in terms of viewing the runs but still good. Standing a few metres from bikes doing big speeds certainly gave me a few goosebumps. The sound was awesome.
Good on the young guys on the 250's (and RS125) for giving it a go. Hayden on the GN cracked everyone up by tooting and showing some leg as he went past.
I think everyone's heart was in their throat when Tony Sampsons Gixxer got a head shake (not Tony riding mind) at near on 300kph. He certainly earned the brown pants prize. I'm sure Tony went white as a ghost for a few seconds.
Stew (from TSS) looked pretty happy when Jay Lawrence took the lead at 301 kph on a stock R1, however Tony fought back hard with a convincing 306kph. The tail wind had picked up a little for the last few runs and may have been an important factor.
In the standing 1/4, Jay did 9.98s on Flame's ZX9 (first time he rode the bike too). Tony Sampson again pipped him with a 9.88s on the Gixxer, then fried his clutch in his second run.
Looking forward to November.
